𝐖𝐑𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐰𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 WRA Governing Board, led by Chair Donald Murgor and accompanied by CEO Mohamed Shurie and top management, conducted a tour to assess the progress of the Mwache Watershed Management component under the Coast Region Water Security and Climate Resilience Project. The visit included inspecting the Mwache Dam construction and ongoing watershed and catchment management projects implemented by 10 WRUAs in the region. Key achievements so far under the project include: -Development of 22 SCMPs and the Mwache Catchment Management Plan. -Creation of 58.5 km of terraces, generating livelihoods for 1,213 community members. -Establishment of WRUA knowledge exchange forums. -Installation of rainwater harvesting infrastructure.
