Globally, cities account for 75% of the consumption of resources, up to 72% of global greenhouse gas emissions, almost 2/3 of global energy demand, and 50% of waste. These negative impacts on the environment can be addressed through rethinking production and consumption models, services and infrastructure and taking what’s known as a circularity approach.
