The Countdown to 2030! Are We Ready to Leap? The Annual Multistakeholder Conference on #SDG Implementation was a powerful moment of reflection and action as the clock ticks closer to the 2030 deadline. Under the theme “Solutions to Leapfrog SDG Implementation in the Last Stretch to 2030”, the event brought together a dynamic mix of leaders: #government representatives, civil society #changemakers, grassroots organizations, and private sector trailblazers. ⭕ Together, we tackled the big question: How do we transform bold ambitions into real, measurable progress? 🔗 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dwbx2JmM #SDGs #PartnershipsForTheGoals #Sustainability #2030Agenda

This year's Annual MultiStakeholders Conference on the #SDGs provides a crucial moment of reflection. What data are we NOT collecting? Do we have adequate data on climate change? For instance, how it is affecting our farmers? We must begin to collect true #data that reflects what is happening in communities and how people's day to day lives are affected by key issues. - Al Kags Watch here: https://lnkd.in/dk8pfg6i #LeapfrogSDGs #SDGsImplementation #CountiesForSDGs 📸SDGs Kenya Forum

An argument we have been making in the last 2 years or so is that money has to flow all the way down to the #grassroots, because this is where true change happens. As we continue to engage in discussions at the #SDG Kenya Forum's Annual Multistakeholders' Conference, we are keen to see conversations reflecting the perspective of communities not from our own perspectives. 🌟 Day One Recap: Setting the Stage for Transformation! The first day of the Annual Multistakeholders Conference has been nothing short of inspiring. As we close the day, we celebrate the impactful conversations, insightful contributions, and meaningful connections made. 🏛️ Today's program featured key remarks from distinguished leaders, dynamic panel discussions, and thought-provoking plenaries, all designed to break down the complexities of the SDGs. Each session sparked dialogue on actionable solutions to accelerate progress toward sustainable development. 📊 We also took a critical look at where we stand as a country in implementing the SDGs. Are we on track, or are we simply mark-timing? These reflections are essential as we identify gaps, assess progress, and determine the most effective strategies to move forward. Through today’s discussions, we explored innovative strategies to address challenges, emphasized the importance of collaboration across sectors, and shared best practices for fostering impactful partnerships. The sessions not only highlighted critical areas for action but also provided a platform for diverse voices to be heard, ensuring inclusivity and a shared commitment to progress. 🌍 Today has reaffirmed the power of collective action in shaping a sustainable and inclusive future. Together, we’re laying the groundwork for actionable outcomes that will leave no one behind. We look forward to diving even deeper tomorrow as we continue this transformative journey. #SDGsConference2024 #SustainableDevelopment #PartnershipsForGoals #LeaveNoOneBehind #SDGAction

I'm honoured to be attending the Annual National SDGs Multi-Stakeholders conference organized by SDGs Kenya Forum. Day 1 left me with something to ponder on. For the umpteenth time, I heard the phrase think globally and act locally. This time, I couldn't stop but wonder, how do we effectively walk this talk when there's clearly a gap between the two phrases? You see, most people who think globally often focus on the bigger picture. They're almost always so far removed from local realities missing the nuances of grassroots lived experiences. The “small-small” challenges that define everyday struggles and victories are nowhere in the big picture. On the other hand we have local actors. These are often concerned about tangible results of things that concern them directly. They are mainly not aligned with global frameworks yet do meaningful work. As a result, their output is not measured or reported in a way that contributes to the bigger picture. So we end up with a vast amount of local effort that goes unrecognized, unmeasured, and unaligned with global progress, leaving the SDGs incomplete and grassroots voices unheard. Truth is, this gap leaves many behind, the very people the #SDGs aim to uplift. How do we remedy this, while already grappling with addressing the big elephant in the room, a lack of #Inclusivedata? I can't wait to soak in all the insights in the remaining 2 days, on how to bridge this gap, and other solutions to leapfrog #SDGs Implementation in this last stretch to 2030 #inclusivedata #DecadeOfAction #LeapfrogSDGs #leavenoonebehind #togetherforSDGs SDGs Kenya Forum
