After being at the forefront, taking part in the budget process, our team carried out pre-public participation forums aimed at educating the community on the importance of public participation for the zero draft to ADP 2025/2026. The team took part in identification of the projects the community would like the county to incorporate in the ADP using Manilla papers that were presented during the public participation day. We also took the initiative of mobilizing the community to participate fully hence the large turn out for this year's forums. We also noted that young people are now taking the initiative of attending these forums. Hence, we have converged today Maono Space to share our opinions and views on how the whole process was with an aim of bridging the gaps identified through the support of Open Institute We keep on to ensure an all inclusive government with projects that are community driven in Kilifi County. Our nation has had stories of lack of political goodwill but at most corruption. We however as citizens of this Nation have a duty to it and it's upon us to partake that. As local Change makers, together with our colleagues at Maono Space, we have been at the forefront in enhancing social accountability and public participation for an inclusive governance for the past year. Our work on this has revolved around looking into budget documents, engaging the community meaningful and leveraging public participation as it is key to development. Climate change is a sector that needs much deliberations as well as actions. The just concluded Pre-LCOY Conference for Kilifi county had 50 young people mobilized from all corners of the county for a meaningful engagement on the climate change sector. We've wrapped up public participation for the 2025/2026 ADP in Malindi and we are glad to note that, apart from Kilifi South,Chonyi Sub-county, other sub-counties have had an increase in the number of people attending public participation forums. This marks as a new beginning to matters public participation as the community is slowly gaining trust when it comes to such processes. It is our hope that community concerns will be considered in the first draft as this will continue bridging the gap between the community and the county when it comes to the aspect of engagement in the budget process as well as development. Our Cabinet Secretaries convened a meeting to discuss matters related to our well-being and progress as a county. The primary agenda focused on conducting research on the status of service delivery in Kilifi County. Each department is tasked with Researching The current needs, challenges, and issues on the ground. Additionally, the research will identify necessary actions to address these challenges effectively. The findings from this research will be presented and discussed during an upcoming parliamentary session. Al Kags Maono Space The Open Institute

Finance Bill - 31 JAN Kilifi County is one of the County that is currently improving in matters Public participation we must say. This is due to the efforts on intergovernmental relation. In regards to the finance bill, we had an engagement of like minded individuals where we looked into the draft. The main purpose was to highlight on the proposed areas and give our inputs in terms of what we would like to be put in place. Our views are concerns raised by the community and we consolidate them so as to forward them to the relevant authorities which in this case is the finance committee. We handed over our Memorandum at the County Assembly as Maono CBO Consortium. The consortium has a representation of over fifty CBOs with the Youth Assembly being the Vice Chair. We appreciate how the Memorandum was received and it is our hope that the matters we captured will be put to consideration
