When your demo works out.🥳 Inspiring to seen Alvin Kamau Ndirangu take on the Amazon Q Coin challenge and build a face recognition app in Python, a language he doesn't use often. I won an Amazon Q Developer Coin! 🏆 I recently had the opportunity to present at the AWS User Group Kenya event at KCA University. I showcased a Football knowledge share app that I built using Amazon Q Developer, and I was blown away by how fast and efficient it was! My project and presentation made an impact because I was awarded one of the limited edition Amazon Q Developer coins! Only five were given out - two in South Africa and three here in Kenya. A big thank you to the AWS User Group Kenya for organizing such an awesome event, and to Amazon for recognizing my contribution with this awesome prize. Special thanks to Veliswa Boya and Adeline Makokha for their support and inspiration! 🙏

We had the most amazing Amazon Q Coin challenge! We had 10 presentations on how various people are leveraging amazon Q to enhance their productivity & build creative applications. They included : Alvin Kamau Ndirangu built a face recognition app. Vitalis Mutwiri created playlist suggestion app based on your mood. Stanley Ngugi built simple messaging app for people in the same LAN without internet. Reagan Charana built a chatgpt clone. Zacheus Eshitemi built a Web scrapping tool that scrapped the website & then creates a word document. ##AWS #AWScommunity.

A bunch of us got together at AWS User Group Kenya to build an app in under 30 mins with #amazonqdeveloper. I then challenged these developers to step up to the mic and demo their app, also detailing how they used Q Developer to get going faster💃🏽💃🏽 I expected maybe one person to step up, which would have made the judging process super easy but not with this bunch of overachievers 😂😍 Congratulations to the following who each won the coveted Amazon Q Developer coin: 🔥Adeline Makokha who is one of the mastermind behind this and other #nextgendeveloper events I have coming up here in Kenya. 👏🏽Farah Abdirahman who has BEEN 😊creating Q Developer content and demo’d a few of his apps at the start of the event. 🙏🏽Alvin Kamau Ndirangu who built and demo’d a cool facial recognition app using Python which he’s in the early stages of learning. Congratulations to everyone who participated today, everyone who walked up to do their demos, and all who attended.
