Global Times / People's Daily, China / Xinhua News Agency China - have several analysis reports on comparing the military power between #china and #vietnam in case there is outbreak of #war #conflict From my view, I propose the following tactics that I got from 4,000 years of history of both China and Vietnam 1. Vietnam is mastering the tactics of asymetric war approach: using low value weapon destroying expensive targeted military subjects (i.e. ocean carrier, submarine, battle ships, missiles, drones, etc.). This is proven via #VietnamWar and current militias war of #Houthi #Hamas #Hezbollah against #USA #Israel #UK in the Middle East 2. Abandoning the urban cities: Vietnamese troops shall purposedly withdraw and retreat to mountains and jungles and ignite militias war against chinese troops who are not familiar with weather conditions, fighting in the tropical jungles and deltas. Chinese shall conquer abandoned cities without food, fresh water, electricity, bridges, roads, etc 3. Actively attack the logistics / supply chain of People's Liberation Army on both China and Vietnam soils, similar to preemptive actions of General LY, Thuong Kiet crushing all powers of Chinese Song feudal dynasty who intended to invade Dai Viet / 大越 / 越 南 in 10th - 11th century (1,000 years ago) 4. Actively bring the coersive action of China to international spectrum and the pressure from international allies of Vietnam is unnegligent to China. 5. Submarines and long-range missiles shall take swift and preemptive actions on plunging thunders targeting military fortresses on Chinese terrority even #shanghai #shenzhen #chongqing #beijing #hebei #hunan #hainanisland

There's a noticeable shift towards aiming higher—choosing to scale as private companies or viewing an IPO as the start of the journey rather than the end, and increasingly eyeing global markets. This cultural shift is exciting and indicative of a maturing startup ecosystem. Here are some key points from the report in English. 1. Overall Fundraising: Total startup fundraising in the first half of 2024 (January to June) amounted to 325.3 billion yen, slightly down from 335.4 billion yen in the same period in 2023. The number of companies raising funds increased by 14% year-on-year, with 1,411 companies involved. 2. Shift to Seed and Early Stage: There was a notable shift in investment towards seed and early-stage startups, with large-scale later-stage fundraising declining. The average fundraising amount per company was 270 million yen, while the median rose by 55% to 83.6 million yen, indicating a shift in distribution towards smaller fundraising amounts. 3. Top Companies: The largest fundraising in H1 2024 was by Tier IV, which raised 8.5 billion yen in a Series B extension round for its autonomous driving software. Spiber, a company developing synthetic protein materials, raised over 10 billion yen for scaling production and global expansion. 4. Focus on Experienced Entrepreneurs: There is a growing trend of funding being concentrated on startups led by experienced entrepreneurs, especially in seed and early stages. Notable examples include Turing, which focuses on fully autonomous vehicles, and Orange, which is developing deep learning models for manga translation. 5. Diverse Fundraising Methods: A new trend in H1 2024 was the use of the J-Ships system, allowing non-public companies to raise funds from specific investors, contributing to the diversification of fundraising methods. Debt financing also remained active, with a total of 88.8 billion yen raised by 156 companies. 6. Investor trends: VC was the largest contributor to funds, followed by corporate investors. There was an increase in the number of new funds over 10 billion yen, with a total of 51 new funds established in H1 2024, amounting to 232.1 billion yen. 7. IPO and M&A Activity: The IPO market remained sluggish with 60 IPOs, of which 22 were startups. The median market cap at IPO fell to 7.7 billion yen. M&A activity increased, with 92 acquisitions or subsidiary formations and 33 business transfers, indicating that startups are increasingly opting for M&A as an exit strategy. 8.Government and Corporate Support: Significant government support continues to bolster the startup ecosystem, including tax reforms, funding from public institutions, and the promotion of public procurement for startups. #Japanbusiness #Japanmarket #startup

This year, Taiwanese startups and the government are quite ambitious about expanding into the Japanese market. In May, the Tokyo government held one of the biggest startup exhibitions, SusHiTech Tokyo. Taiwan had the largest pavilion among all participating countries. Additionally, Taiwanese startup CancerFree Biotech advanced to the top 7 in the pitch competition, selected from hundreds of startups. (Last year, Taiwanese startup Turing Space also advanced to the top 7.) Following SusHiTech Tokyo, Startup Island TAIWAN led a delegation of over 30 startups to Osaka this week to expand their market presence, followed by participation in IVS, one of the largest startup exhibitions in Japan. After IVS, two Taiwanese startups, CancerFree Biotech and Turing Drive, will join me in Okinawa for the startup exhibition Kozarocks. Oops. Looks like Mr. Ishiba's call for a snap election backfired. The results are in. Of the 465 contested seats in the Lower House, the Ruling Parties (LDP + Komeito) got 215. The opposition parties got 235. 233 seats were needed for a majority so simply put, the Ruling Parties lost. IMO, Mr. Ishiba should have fully addressed the financial scandal which brought down his predecessor, Mr. Kishida, before triggering this election. Mr. Ishiba and LDP are now in a precarious position. That said, I believe the future of Japanese business and investment remains on an upward path, largely unaffected by political turnover. One could even argue that government leadership here may have less direct impact on business stability than in other regions. Personal observation: 1. #Russia has motives to extend their muscle to Asian region in the context of mistrust and collapse of relation between #NATO and #Kremlin. Besides of existing names: China, North Korea, India, Iran and Vietnam, #Russia finds their new #allies in West Pacific rim, a global economic hub who could bring a lof of benefits to Russia in terms of economic growth, investment, technology, export markets, weapon deals. Morever, #diversification strategy minimizes the sole dependence risk on China. Russia fully understands the volatility of Sino-Russo relation with prolonged controversary topics like: Russian Empire in 18th and 19th century forced #Qing feudal regime on sovereign territory treaty in which China abandoned a vast land to Russia (nowadays #Kamchatka peninsula and #Manchuaria region) 2. Excellent interview where Huang talks about the technology trends, the tech transition and how something that can't be seen, doesn't weigh, and can't be packaged, is now counted as a resource.
