Purpose
Under direct supervision, this part-time position assists the Engineering Staff with various engineering tasks related to the operation and/or maintenance of an electric power station.
The work will include applying engineering principals to real world problems and will provide the opportunity to learn new electric power engineering skills.
The tasks involved may include such things as environmental compliance assistance, plant efficiency calculations, data entry, project involvement and documentation, budget tracking of projects, EAS integration assistance, and other projects as assigned.
Accountabilities
• Assists in various permit requirement tasks including water sampling, CEMS work, and other governmental and state regulatory requirements.
• Performs research, prepares cost estimates, and provides services in support of design work
• Updates unit heat rate information by extracting data from plant control system
• Assists in transferring data from legacy MMS to new EAS system
• Take small projects from inception to completion.
Responsible for all phases of the projects, including budget tracking.
• Assists in developing spreadsheets for field and office use
• Prepares various documents as required using word processing and spreadsheet programs
• Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Reports all unsafe activities to the supervisor, Manager of Safety Services, and/or Human Resources
• Performs various other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or designated staff
Education and Experience
• Completed a minimum of the Sophomore year of college from an accredited university working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Must have experience with personal computers and have a strong working knowledge of the Windows, Office 365, and AutoCAD would be a plus
• Must be willing to work an average of approximately 40 hours per week and the internship would run mid-June to Mid-August approx.
12 weeks.

• Have the ability to interface, build relationships, and communicate with peers and all levels of management
• Able to work independently and function in a team environment
• Must have the ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments with limited time constraints and changing requirements
