Specialty Care
Cleveland Clinic has a wide variety of specialties for you to explore, including oncology, urology, cardiovascular, and more. But the best part is that no matter which area you choose, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills as you work on complex cases you won’t see anywhere else. You’ll treat everyone from patients who are here for routine procedures or non-serious conditions to those who need our care the most. And you’ll continue to learn and grow in a culture of belonging, lifelong learning and wellness.
Locations
In addition to our Main Campus in Cleveland, Ohio, Cleveland Clinic has 14 hospitals in northeast Ohio. We have five regional hospitals in Florida, a location in Nevada, and numerous health centers. In addition, we have hospitals in London and Abu Dhabi, as well as a health center in Canada. With so many options, you’re sure to find a place at Cleveland Clinic that’s close to home.
Financial Support
For nurses looking for a supportive and empathetic work environment, Cleveland Clinic offers professional development and growth through:

Nurse Residency Program
We’re always thrilled to have new graduate nurses join Cleveland Clinic. Our Nurse Residency program is accredited as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.
Each Nurse Resident has the opportunity to grow and develop through this one-year, simulation-based program. Cleveland Clinic offers nine tracks tailored to specific care areas, ensuring education matches clinical experiences. Beyond online modules, the program features in-person and hands-on training from expert nursing professional development specialists, so you have a safe environment to build both confidence and competence.
Personalized Orientation Plan
We’ll individualize your orientation with a complete assessment of your critical thinking, and help you build on your experience and create a guide for your professional path. You’ll get an introduction to everything from electronic medical record and ECG interpretation training to our regulations, practices, initiatives and protocols.
Success coaching
As a Cleveland Clinic caregiver, you are never alone. As you begin your career here, our Success Coach team of dedicated Nursing Professional Development Specialists will support you through all of your experiences on your way to becoming an exceptional caregiver. They’ll be available to you at all times — in person, virtually and through email — to answer questions and help you grow. You’ll build a strong relationship and have someone you can rely on when you need assistance.
Career Paths
After you’ve completed your one-year residency with us, you’ll be able to choose from four specialty tracks that will allow you to develop your skills in a specific area of care. These nursing career paths include:
- Clinical Expert – This is one of our most popular tracks, with many nurses choosing to pursue a mentorship program in Diabetes or Skincare.
- Advanced Practice – You’ll explore the various responsibilities, requirements and paths you can take as an APRN in order to provide preventive or primary care services to patients.
- Specialty Nursing – Specialize in an area of nursing practice outside of direct patient care in areas that include Risk Management, Infection Prevention, Nursing Research and more.
- Leadership Track– In addition to the above specialty tracks, you may also choose to pursue a Leadership track which will help you meet your professional leadership goals for the roles of Clinical Nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager/Nursing Operations Manager and Directors. Educational offerings include recommended and elective courses and leadership experience/exposure opportunities.
Each track provides developmental courses, experiential learning and supporting activities.
PRN/Flexible Schedule Nursing

That’s why we offer a variety of PRN shifts (staggered shift start times, flexible schedule lengths, specialized assignments, etc.) for experienced nurses to join our caregiver family. We’re committed to giving you the flexibility you need – no matter what may be going on in your life – to provide our patients with outstanding care.
