this month: something different?

i've been showing off previews of the next album as part of these jam packs the past couple months, and that's been fun!! it's made my heart sing seeing people gushing in the little review section under each album (i read each and every single one of those btw the joy i get from them is immeasurable)

BUT i don't wanna show off much more of the album before its announced. so how about instead i show off more stuff that's *not* on the album? or *is* on the album but in a completely different form?

track 10 off of ******** ********** is called Magnasanti. it's got a featured artist, but i'm keeping that one a secret for later. it's the longest song i've ever written at around 7 minutes, it's my *favorite* song i've ever written, and it's also the song that gave me the most trouble, taking quite literally the entirety of the past three years to actually reach its final form - it was the first song i started for the album, and the last song i finished. naturally, it frustrated the shit out of me, so i tried replacing it, iterating on it, rewriting it, revamping it, all sorts of things.

ultimately, its final form ended up being the closest to where it started, but filtered through everything i had tried to replace it with beforehand. so i thought it'd be neat to show the journey off! maybe it'll give you an even better appreciation of the final product once you hear it. or maybe you'll think these ideas are better! in which case that sucks i'm sorry
