DB | The European securitisation market has been stagnating since the financial crisis The crisis ended a boom phase, with true-sale securitisation issuance peaking at EUR 711 bn in 2008. Afterwards, issuance fell drastically and has since remained stable at around EUR 200 bn per year or EUR 100 bn if marketplaced issuance alone is considered. This is much lower than in the US, where average annual issuance was about EUR 2 tr in the period 2013-23. Synthetic securitisation, however, where the underlying assets remain on the bank’s balance sheet, has been growing in recent years, with issuance in the euro area reaching EUR 139 bn in 2023. Mario Draghi and The future of European competitiveness: To increase the financing capacity of the banking sector, the EU should aim to REVIVE securitisation..the Report recommends that the Commission makes a proposal to adjust prudential requirements for securitised assets. Capital charges must be reduced for certain simple, transparent and standardised categories FOR WHICH CHARGES DO NOT REFLECT ACTUAL RISKS!!!

A new #ETF will be available for investors on the Bucharest Stock Exchange / Bursa de Valori Bucuresti (BVB), starting with May 29: InterCapital BET-TRN UCITS ETF. Francesco Semonella recently contributed to the 5th issue of the European Investment Fund Review with the article "Equalisation Payments from an Italian Income Tax Perspective". The article analyses different equalisation structures that may be implemented in funds’ regulations and their income tax implications for original and new investors. FxPro The #euro has recorded losses of around 2.45% against the #US dollar over the past month, influenced by declining #inflation in the #Eurozone and the possibility of the European Central Bank cutting interest rates in June. This is coupled with the return of the hawkish tone of the US #Federal_Reserve and expectations of a slower pace of interest rate cuts in 2024. This has positively impacted the US dollar index and US Treasury bond yields, especially the 10-year yields, which have surpassed the 4.6% level. #EURUSD fell after the earlier breakout of the key support level 1.0730, which has been reversing the price from December, intersecting with the 61.8% Fibonacci correction of the ABC correction (2) from October. Currently, it is trading below the second support level at 1.0630, and if it remains below this level, the next potential support line could be at 1.0570.

Mactur provides the good news for the ECB's cutting interest rates. On June 6, the European Central Bank (ECB) cut interest rates by 25 basis points, marking its first reduction in five years. The bank has adjusted its primary refinancing rate to 4.25%, the marginal lending rate to 4.50%, and the deposit rate to 3.75% as prices cool down. However, analysts caution that the battle against inflation is still ongoing.
