While some industry giants like Toyota are making bold moves with significant investments in battery technology, there’s still hesitation in certain parts of the world. 🔋 Toyota’s recent push towards becoming more competitive in battery electrification is a clear signal: the future is electric, smart, and sustainable. Yet, at the same time, we’re witnessing calls to delay the 2035 target to stop internal combustion engine (ICE) production. Decarbonisation in the automotive sector is one of the neural points of the transition, and it is also among the most politicized topics in recent years. 🔎 Car emissions account for 13% of Europe’s greenhouse gases generated yearly. The failure to decarbonize this sector in Italy caused the emission budget to grow in 2022.  📌 The debate usually focuses on electrification and policy incentives for EVs. However, that is not the only perspective from which to analyze the matter. 👉 What solutions could cut the sector’s emissions from a production chain perspective? An answer comes from green steel. ⚡ Steel produced in electric arc ovens powered by renewable sources, or from green hydrogen with direct reduction processes, has a significant potential.  💡 If used in the automotive manufacturing process, it could cut 7 million tons of CO2 per year by 2030, the equivalent of removing 3.5 million diesel and petrol cars from the road. Waste-generated compressed #biomethane: a sustainable solution for the decarbonisation of the mobility sector. Our IVECO brand promoted a study carried out by the Institute of Atmospheric Pollution of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) to evaluate the environmental impact of compressed biomethane. The analysis confirms the decisive role of bio-CNG in the #decarbonisation of the transport sector and the reduction of air pollution in urban areas, with a reduction in climate-changing gases of up to 96% compared to diesel, and a reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions of up to 72%. Reading the last articles about the refuse of agreement between the German and Italian automotive industries.... Now I would like to ask you if you believe that when the hard times come is a good idea to divide,to separate and to weaken even much more the weak of industry already in being!?🤔 Isn't enough to face materials shortages and strikes in the crucial harbours that will generate enormous delays in already so weak forecasting,orders and sales not only in Europe but also beyond the Ocean, except Chinese vehicles that seem to have an ambitious plan to dominate the market and they are succeeding...no surprises let say! Someone said about Stellantis plans to build the cars in Serbia that is a shame and unbelievable...but sirs....for many years Fiat already produced cars in the Zastava plant in Kragujevac that still exists and lately also Fiat 500 was built there...no surprises let's say! In the end we're in the middle of wars even if we don't want to accept and to admit it and this situation is conditioning the stock market indeed and uncertainty could guide wherever and it isn't a good time to make push pull game but to find right solution and make an union as better as of possibilities to contrast competitors. I wish by you a great evening and positive mind thoughts and most of all to use the wisdom as Europe is considered an old continent the wisdom should be the natural consequence.
