Yaki Ratz and I want to invite you to the 6th Gathering "Deploying and Scaling Apps on Amazon EKS" next Thursday 15th August, 9:30AM - 2:00PM, at AWS 28 Floor, Tel-Aviv 🔊 🔎 Applications in a Kubernetes cluster are hosted on the cluster’s worker nodes, which use the cluster's cloud environment compute capacity. Scaling the applications and the compute capacity available to the cluster elastically, based on the load, is a crucial step to make these applications highly-available, performant and cost-effective. 📚In this session we will discuss using Amazon EC2 and Fargate as the compute capacity for an Amazon EKS cluster and explore ways in which we can provision and automatically adjust that capacity based on the scaling demands of the applications that run in the cluster. 💻In this hands-on workshop we will configure automatic scaling for an application deployed in an Amazon EKS cluster and apply load to the application to observe its behavior. Dov Amir and I want to invite you to the 7th Gathering "Amazon EKS and Containers Security" this Monday 19th August, 9:30AM - 2:00PM, at AWS 28 Floor, Tel-Aviv 🔊 🔎 Security is an extremely important aspect of the design and operation of Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) clusters and applications in them. Under shared responsibility model it is the customers’ responsibility to ensure the security configuration of the data plane, worker nodes, their operating system, network controls, identity and access management and application containers. 📚This session discusses the security aspects of the Amazon EKS cluster architecture and various mechanisms that allow to protect data in transit and at rest, control network traffic within the cluster and govern its applications access to AWS services. 💻In this hands-on workshop we will provision secrets for an application deployed in an Amazon EKS cluster, control traffic between different applications within the cluster using Kubernetes network policies and Amazon VPC security groups and provide these applications with the necessary permissions to access various AWS services using IAM Roles for Service Accounts.
