The 1960s was a transformative decade for the workplace, marked by significant social and technological changes. Here's a glimpse of what getting to work and the work environment looked like during that era: Transportation: Many people commuted to work by car, as the post-war boom had made automobiles more accessible. Public transportation, like buses and trains, was also commonly used, especially in urban areas. Office Environment: Offices were typically more formal, with a clear hierarchy. Men often wore suits and ties, while women wore dresses or skirts. The open-plan office was not yet common; instead, many workplaces had individual offices or cubicles. Technology: The workplace was on the cusp of technological change. Typewriters were standard for clerical work, and the introduction of early computers began to change how businesses operated.
