The Italian path for National Technological Clusters has in many cases not been a smooth one so far. CSM - dID is founder of Cluster SMILE - Smart Living Technologies and was also a founder of Cluster Tecnologico Nazionale "Made in Italy" , then deciding to leave after some years of struggling. We are now back thanks to the call of the nominated president Matteo Tonon and Cluster Legno Arredo Casa FVG with Carlo Piemonte. Glad to be here again with the only aim of supporting a key national ecosystem to boost and act for our companies' competitiveness in the EU context. The cluster management approach mixed with expertise and research competences is crucial for deploying a sustainable action on the 3 areas of innovation, internationalization and training.

After a challenging Q1 2024, some considerations. Results are in line with our expectations and overall industry and peers’ dynamics. In a still strongly negative environment, both in Europe and North America, we are defending our shares and consolidating a sequential revenue increase in both Divisions from quarter to quarter, demonstrating that the direction is the right one. Pressure on margins is heavy, but we know that 2024 will be a year of investment in our future and we all believe in the solidity of our mid-term vision. The performance of North America, where we are growing 10% in a context of demand decline, thanks to new OEM customers and the direct distribution strategy implemented in 2023, is a solid support to fully benefit from the opportunities that will come from a recovery in demand. Focus remains on supporting growth in both business segments: on the one hand continuing along the path of transformation and positioning in Cooking, on the other keep investing on sustainable innovation and increasing our market share in Motor Division. I’m confident about the journey ahead and look forward to sharing our progress.
