Are Our Public Spaces Truly Protected? 🛡️ Are we doing enough to safeguard public spaces? 🌍 This question lies at the heart of SAFE-CITIES, an EU-funded project tackling modern security challenges. Our initiative is delivering tools and strategies that help municipalities, law enforcement, and urban planners protect public spaces more effectively. In our latest interview, Umberto Battista Batista from STAM S.r.l., who is the project coordinator, shares insights into how SAFE-CITIES addresses vulnerabilities, enhances collaboration between stakeholders, and prepares public areas to handle evolving threats. With six months left until completion, the project is gearing up for its final demonstration, promising real-world impact for safer urban environments. 👉 Dive into the interview and discover how SAFE-CITIES can impact the future of public safety: https://lnkd.in/dRXKYwQs #SafeCities #PublicSafety #UrbanSecurity #EUInnovation

Risk-Based Approach for the Protection of Public Spaces in European Cities 🏙️🏢🌁
Chi siamo
The SAFE-CITIES project aims to help protect public spaces by providing a security and vulnerability assessment framework supported by an interactive platform. The mentioned assessment leads to recommendations of actions for current and future-planned spaces to be adjusted so that the risks identified within the first phase are consequently and effectively mitigated. The platform will enable the simulation of complex scenarios, taking into account the behavior of the crowd and various types of attacks in any space in a realistic 3D virtual environment, allowing for comprehensive and dynamic risk and vulnerability assessments of the tested locations. SAFE-CITIES has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101073945.
