Chi siamo

--- From 5 to 8 November, ECOMONDO - ITALIAN EXHIBITION GROUP, the leading international trade fair in the green and circular economy sectors, was held in Rimini. Ecomondo brings together companies, stakeholders, policy makers, researchers and institutions to share technologies and strategies to support the European Green Deal. The Politecnico di Milano participated with a delegation of 30 professors, researchers and research fellows, involved in over ten conferences on key issues of environmental sustainability. Among the research topics addressed, the valorization of sewage sludge, the optimization of wastewater treatments, the reuse of water, the impacts of energy recovery plants from waste and the recovery of critical materials from exhausted batteries, photovoltaic panels and wind turbines. This presence confirms the role of the Politecnico as a reference point for research and innovation at the service of environmental sustainability. #PolimiSustainability

Take a look at our last publication about risk assessment for olfactometric examiners. The study, conducted in collaboration with RAHH - Risk Assessment for Human Health group of Università degli Studi dell'Insubria, presents and applies probabilistic approach to evaluate the occupational risk for olfactometric examiners. Enjoy the read — it's open access! https://lnkd.in/dj35Udst
I'm very happy to announce that the final study of my PhD research has been published! Conducted in collaboration between the RAHH - Risk Assessment for Human Health group of Università degli Studi dell'Insubria and Laboratorio Olfattometrico @ PoliMI, the study presents an innovative probabilistic approach for assessing occupational exposure risk of olfactometric examiners involved in dynamic olfactometry. The article is available in #openaccess on Toxics MDPI at the following link: https://lnkd.in/dj35Udst. A heartfelt thanks to the research team (Andrea Spinazzè, Marzio Invernizzi, Andrea Cattaneo, Domenico Maria Cavallo e Selena Sironi) for their invaluable support and contribution!

🎉 We’re thrilled to share our latest publication: "The Development and Optimization of a New Wind Tunnel Design for Odour Sampling." In this study, we introduce a compact, innovative wind tunnel design that improves odour sampling for passive area sources, opening new possibilities for environmental monitoring! Enjoy the read—it's open access! ⤵ Siamo lieti di condividere la nostra ultima pubblicazione: "The Development and Optimization of a New Wind Tunnel Design for Odour Sampling." ⤵ https://lnkd.in/drecRhwN

ODOROUS EMISSIONS: MONITORING AND ABATEMENT book has finally been published: check the links to see if a free version of the chapter is still available!
It gives me great pleasure, and even greater satisfaction, to share with you my latest editorial effort: the book "ODOROUS EMISSIONS: MONITORING AND ABATEMENT," published in Elsevier's "Advances in Chemical Engineering" series. This book was born from the combination of my end-of-pipe technology course and the research activities of the Laboratorio Olfattometrico @ PoliMI. I am particularly proud of this work because it represents well what I believe engineering should be: a meeting of theoretical and lab research with the practical world of industry and technology. Indeed, the authors come from both universities and private companies with expertise in specific fields. I would like to thank them all for their valuable contribution! NOSE2024 has officially concluded. It was another fantastic opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones interested in odour monitoring and control. A heartfelt thank you to all the participants for the engaging scientific discussions and memorable funny moments, to our sponsors for their support, and to the Scientific and Organizing Committees for their invaluable contributions. We will meet again in Bologna (Emilia Romagna, Italy) in 2026 for the 10th International Conference on Environmental Monitoring of Odours and VOCs. We look forward to seeing all of you again in Bologna!
