The reasons range from aging infrastructure and environmental impacts to human error and equipment inadequacy. Key factors influencing grid component reliability include: Material Quality: High-quality materials are essential for component performance. Supply Chain: Disruptions or cost-cutting measures can compromise reliability. Production Processes: Changes or shortcuts in manufacturing can cause failures during testing or after installation. We’re pleased to announce that KEMA Consulting, part of CESI Group, has been chosen as the main consultancy provider for TenneT’s offshore grid expansion in the Netherlands! Under a framework agreement valued at up to €7 million, KEMA will deliver engineering support for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter stations, which are critical for connecting offshore wind farms to the national grid. Two backup consultants have also been selected by TenneT as part of this framework agreement. This is a significant step forward in the energy transition, helping TenneT meet its ambitious goal of connecting multiple wind farms by 2031, reinforcing Europe’s renewable energy supply.
