🔸 FUEL-UP Project: A Year of Progress 🔸 📅 In the first 12 months of the project, a great effort has been dedicated to activities focused on the Carbon Management and Process Side-Stream Valorization. ✨ Our Goals: 📝 Design innovative processes to maximize biomass carbon content utilization. 🍃 Identify the most environmentally friendly and economically viable side-streams valorization. 🔑 Key Achievements: 🌿 Process Design and Assessment: AristEng Sarl has developed multiple process alternatives for side-stream valorization, focusing on carbon recovery and minimizing GHG emissions. 💱 Business Perspective: BTG-Next is evaluating these alternatives to ensure their commercial viability. We're grateful for the additional collaborative efforts in these activities by SINTEF Industry, BTG Biomass Technology Group BV, Tüpraş, SINTEF Ocean, Avecom, German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). ✨ FUEL-UP: Progress Update ✨ In this first year of project development, the German Aerospace Center (DLR), supported by Tüpraş and BTG Biomass Technology Group BV, has investigated and worked on fuel prescreening activities aimed at exploring the fuel design space, thus providing context for both the process development and the aviation fuel approval. FUEL-UP project goals on this topic: 🌿 Unveiling the fuel design space: By using advanced modeling, a range of feasible products with promising properties and performance can be identified. 📈 Optimizing production: Utilize small volume methods to gain valuable insights into parameters that affect fuel quality and performance 🔥 Mitigating risks: The research explores how feedstock and processing variations impact fuel quality, allowing us to develop robust production processes. ️ 💻 Ready to learn more?
