The Statewide Residency Training Program is seeking a Data Analyst to develop, administer, and control data resources to assure their availability, performance, integrity, and security.
Coordinate and perform the data collection efforts of the Physician Information System (PIS), and Physician Assistant (PA) tracking systems.
Examine, check, and verify Physician, Physician Assistant, and Visiting Consultant Clinic information.
Produce, verify, and distribute routine, and statistical reports generated from the Physician, Physician Assistant and Visiting Consultant Clinic tracking systems.
Percent Time: 100% Duties to include: Data Analysis, Migration and Management Coordinate and perform the data collection efforts of the Physician Information System (PIS), and Physician Assistant (PA) tracking systems.
Including, but not limited to, calling each healthcare work site a minimum of every 6 months, web searches, collection of rosters, and lists from statewide resources, Freedom of Information Act requests (FOIA), etc.
Backfill health professions data by maintaining connection to paid services such as Been Verified and American Board of Medical Specialties, as well as non-paid data - Board of Medicine Licensure, NPI, Board of Physician Assistants Licensure, etc.
Examine, check, and verify Physician, Physician Assistant, and Visiting Consultant Clinic information.
Manage the programmer scope of work for internal and external data inquiries, data integrity audits, and workflow.
Develop and maintain reporting applications to enable and enhance reporting needs of the research division.
Conduct data integrity audits.
Monitor workflow processes; may gather requirements or recommend improvements to business processes.
Database Development/Reporting Work with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (IDHHS) on their annual state Obstetrics report; tracking all births in Iowa, by matching data to help identify health professionals.
Collaborate with the College of Public Health and College of Business, providing data to Master’s and PhD students in their research and publication studies.
Survey, collect, and produce data for the UI Childs Health Specialty Clinics, in conjunction with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services on the annual First Five Survey.
OSCEP gathers data for the Primary Care Office (PCO) at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (IHHS).
IHHS in turn uses this information in conjunction with population and income data to identify Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) across Iowa.
Shortage areas have access to Federal resources and programs.
Answer routine inquiries from OSCEP staff members and provides information regarding policies and procedures of the Physician, and Physician Assistant tracking systems Both provide data and receive updates from Iowa Cancer Registry.
Respond to data requests from faculty and staff of the related Health Science Colleges.
Data resource; creates/provides data to members of our Advisory Committee Members, Legislature, University Administration, etc.

Create bi-monthly information/graphics for CMAB hallway data board.
Provide data to bi-annual Iowa Health Factbook.
Research and slide creation for OSCEP Assistant Dean/Director for both internal and external presentations.
Conduct the marketing efforts involving the Iowa Health Professions Inventory, including the development of marketing materials (i.

, brochures, letter and samples), identification of potential clients and coordination of mailings.
Provide analysis, design and implementation and support of programmatic solutions.
Administration/Support Provide technical or application support to users.

Serves as liaison with staff of the Iowa Board of Medicine and Iowa Board of Physician Assistants, and the Iowa Physician Assistant Association.

Attends, confers with annual AAMC Healthcare Workforce Conference in Washington DC.
Consults with other state workforce centers, regarding tracking, data issues, and practices.

Education Required A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Required Qualifications: One year of experience in health care and/or administration.
One year experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Microsoft, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
) and graphics software (ex: Corel Draw, Tableau, etc.
).
Evidence of excellent written and verbal skills.
Recent projects/products that demonstrate a successful history of accurately organizing and managing detailed information.
One year of work experience that displays excellent interpersonal, professionalism and customer service skills.
Evidence of contributing to a positive internal workplace culture.
Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of Iowa healthcare systems and organizations.
One year experience working with a relational database.
Experience with survey research and data collection accompanied by excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
