Samantha This album can bring fans of all subgenre of metal together. This may be the first album in over 10 years that could somehow steal my #1 spot that is not black metal (although it is hard to beat Horn). Jón has one of the most powerful, emotional voices in all of metal right now (listen to his band Hamferð too, if you love doom metal). I am not usually into progressive, but Kinship brings every subgenre you can imagine together in perfect, dark, emotional, atmospheric harmony. AOTY contender. Favorite track: Kinship Elegiac.

Roland I had the privilege of attending the release party where the album was played on some top-notch high-end speakers and holy sh...the things you discover and feel while listening - wowzers!! Once again they totally blow me away with what ease they seem to incorporate so many aspects of various genres and craft an amazingly coherent, atmospheric and harmonious piece of music. It's safe to say: just like its predecessor, Kinship is gonna take my AOTY spot. Outstanding! Favorite track: Earth to Sky.
