1. How do I update my account details?


Log in to the website and visit the "Your account" page. In the “Profile & Newsletters” tab, you can change your name, email address and password by editing information in each form. This process is only possible through the website.


2. I have forgotten my password.


You can reset your password from the "Forgot password?" link located in the Login window. You will receive an email at your registered email address that contains a link to the “Change password” feature. This process is only possible through the website.

1. Click “Log in” at the top right corner.

2. Type your email address and click “Next”

3. Click "Forgot password?"

4. Type your email address again and click “Submit.”

You don’t need to input the password. Input an access code that is sent to your email address.



3. I have registered an incorrect email address.


Log in to the website with the incorrect email address, and change it on the “Your account” page. If you do not know the email address you entered, please contact us.



4. How do I edit my email address and password?


Updating your registered email address

1. Visit the “Your account” page.

2. In the “Profile & Newsletters” tab, find the email entry field.

3. Enter your new email address and current password then click the “Save changes” button.


If you have a corporate subscription, please contact your administrator for assistance.


Using the social login feature does not affect your registered email address.


Updating your password

1. Visit the “Your account” page.

2. In the “Profile & Newsletters” tab, click the “Change password” link located under the Password entry field.

3. Enter your password information then click the “Save changes” button.


Note: Once you create the password, you need a password every time to log in to the website and app.



5. How do I update my payment information?


To change your registered credit card expiration date, please do the following:

1. Visit the "Your account" page.

2. Click the “Payment methods” tab.

3. Click the pencil icon on the right of the card you want to update.

4. Update the expiration date and “Save changes.”


If you have registered your credit card through Apple Pay, please note that you cannot update the card’s expiration date and will need to register a new credit card.


Adding a credit card or PayPal account

1. Visit the "Your account" page.

2. Click the “Payment methods” tab.

3. To add a new credit card, click “Add card” in the right corner. To add a PayPal account, click “▼,” located next to “Add card,” and click “Add PayPal.”

4. Enter your information and click “Save changes.”

5. Make sure to click “Set as default” to apply to your next transaction.


To edit your payment information for app subscriptions, follow the instructions provided by the store from which you purchased your subscription.



6. How do I check my current subscription details?


Access the "Your account" page and click the “Transactions” tab, then you see your current and past subscription details. You can access them only from the website.


7. How do I subscribe or unsubscribe to newsletters?


Subscribe to our email newsletter to receive daily article updates and more.


Nikkei Asia Subscribers

Log in and select “Newsletters” in the “Your account” dropdown list, check the checkboxes depending on your preferences. If you would like to receive updates and special offers from Nikkei, Nikkei's partners, click “Yes” next to “Receive invites to events and offers from Nikkei Asia and the Nikkei Group.”

Log in and select “Newsletters” in the “Your account” dropdown list, click “Unsubscribe all” at the bottom of the page. If you would like to stop receiving information as well, click “No” next to “Receive invites to events and offers from Nikkei Asia and the Nikkei Group.”

Log in and select “Newsletters” in the “Your account” dropdown list, click “Unsubscribe all” at the bottom of the page. If you would like to stop receiving information as well, click “No” next to “Receive invites to events and offers from Nikkei Asia and the Nikkei Group.”


Depending on the email address you have registered, you may not be able to receive our emails. App subscribers who do not create a website ID for the website will not be able to use this service.



8. How do I change my newsletter preferences?


Log in and select “Newsletters” in the “Your account” dropdown list, and you will see the list of our newsletter categories. Check the checkboxes to indicate your preferences.



9. How do I update my delivery address?


1. Visit the "Your account" page.

2. Click the "Subscriptions” tab.

3. Click the “Update delivery address” link located below your current active subscription’s registered address.

4. Edit your delivery address and click the “Save changes” button.


Edits made by Monday (JST) are applied to the delivery of the issue to be sent out that week.


If you are a corporate (group) subscriber, please contact your sales representative to update your delivery address.



10. What social media accounts can I use for social login?


You can use your Facebook, Google, X or LinkedIn account to sign in to the Nikkei Asia website and app. To connect your social media accounts to your Nikkei Asia account, please do the following:

1. Visit the “Your account” page.

2. Scroll down to the Social Account section in the “Profile & Newsletters” tab.

3. Select the social media account you want to connect to.

4. Enter your login information for the social media account you select.


After you input your login credentials, the change will be reflected in the Social Account section. You can connect multiple social media login providers with the same account.



11. How can I disconnect my social media account from Nikkei Asia account?


To disconnect your Facebook, Google, X or LinkedIn account from your Nikkei Asia account:

1. Visit the "Your account" page.

2. Scroll down to the Social Account section in the “Profile & Newsletters” tab.

3. Select the account you want to disconnect from and click the “Disconnect” button.


If the “Disconnect” button is unclickable, you will have to either set a new password to your Nikkei Asia account or connect another social media account before you disconnect.



12. I used my X account to subscribe to Nikkei Asia. Can I use it log in to the Nikkei Asia app?


No. You will need to create a new password for the app. Follow the steps below to create the password:

1. Visit the "Your account" page.

2. Open “Profile & Newsletters” tab. You will see "Click here to add a password".

3. Enter a new password in both the “New password” and “Confirm new password” fields.

4. Click “Save changes.”


When using the app, use the password you just created.



13. I have deleted/canceled my social media account that was connected to Nikkei Asia, even though I am still subscribed. How can I log in?


You can log in as per the steps below.

1. Click “Log in” at the top right corner.

2. Type your email address with which you registered to the Nikkei Asia website via your social media account and click “Next.”

3. An access code will be sent to your email address.

4. Enter the access code in the Login window



14. On my iOS device, I am unable to log in via my social media account (Facebook, Google, X, LinkedIn). What should I do?


Our website requires you to view a pop-up screen when logging in via social media account. Some browsers block pop-up displays by default. Please enable pop-ups for Nikkei Asia.


1. Open the device "Settings" and locate the settings for Safari.

2. In the General category, swipe the “Block Pop-ups” toggle to the left to disable.
