The rise of Global Capability Centres ( GCC) in India is redefining India’s role in the global business ecosystem. GCCs are strategic hubs for MNCs driving innovation , development & critical business functions with end to end product development, R&D , data analytics AI initiatives & much more. The 1,580 centres in India already account for 50 % of all GCC’s globally, employing about 1.66 million Indians & generating about $46 billion in annual revenues as of March 2023. With India currently graduating 1.5 million engineers per year & rising, the country has the capability to support this as a model to support future global growth. A phenomenal “Make in India”story.

The acceleration of technological advancement in the healthcare industry has facilitated considerable progress, including adopting virtual care delivery models such as telehealth and online care management, while exacerbating the inequities. Digital inclusion policies play a crucial role in addressing these inequities. The research questions guiding this study consider significant factors influencing digital healthcare delivery for patients and the impacts of digital health adoption on health equity within the Social Determinants of Health framework. The ethical and privacy challenges of digital health interventions and barriers to digital equity in resource-limited settings are explored. This paper highlights digital health inclusion policies and programs implemented globally by Governments. In conclusion, the chapter provides insights and recommendations for future policymaking. Role of CDAOs in Gen AI strategy/initiatives   This 2023 piece that I was reading from Gartner beautifully lays out the role of CDAOs in Gen AI strategy and initiatives.   Of all the involvements, the super critical ones could be developing and evaluating use cases for AI adoption and to provide executive sponsorship of Gen AI initiatives.   The question though is how do we select use cases?    There is a lot involved here - Ideation, determining the business impact, calculating the ROI/ ROI comparison, non monetary impacts across the org etc.   On a very high level, Define what do you want to achieve with AI - e.g., freeing up the time of your resources for high priority tasks. Find entry points - error prone areas, repetitive tasks. Ranking use cases based on impact PoC Evaluating the impact and possibilities of scaling.   Often these tasks (along with countless others; refer fig.) fall directly on initiative owners (CDAOs, CIOs, Head of AI etc.).   That is why enterprises usually have an AI implementation partner working as an extended arm of the initiative owners. Ramsu Sundararajan: Segment of One at Scale Ramasubramanian (Ramsu) Sundararajan holds a PhD in Machine Learning, and is the Head of R&D at solus.ai, which powers Segment of One personalization. Roles prior to that included Senior Scientist at GE Global Research, and Principal at Sabre Airline Solutions, where he developed some of the original algorithms. Ramsu shares highlights of his journey in AI, with particular focus on personalization in marketing, with insights about how to think about that problem conceptually, including what parts are somewhat easy and which are difficult or tedious. There are also key insights about customer journeys and about the cold start problem. Other topics covered include customer genomes, as well as a discussion about navigating between decisions taken at a zoomed-in perspective at the individual customer record level, while also managing to a zoomed-out perspective that’s driven by KPIs, comps and annual targets. On the final day of inSIG 2024 at IIM Bangalore, I heard Dhruv Dhody's insightful talk on "Internet Standards and RFCs: Processes and the Present Status." One concept that caught my attention was carbon routing or carbon-aware routing. This innovative strategy focuses on reducing the carbon footprint of data transmission by selecting network paths based on carbon emissions alongside traditional factors like speed and reliability. While carbon-aware routing offers great promise in promoting sustainability, it also presents certain challenges. On the positive side, it can significantly reduce environmental impact and optimise energy use across the internet. However, trade-offs may include potentially slower data transmission and the complexity of implementing dynamic routing algorithms at scale. A more holistic approach—balancing carbon efficiency with network performance—could drive further adoption of this concept and advances in clean energy integration for data centres. I'm thrilled to share my project of a comprehensive KPI Dashboard for AtliQ, a company owning multiple hotel chains across India. This project was aimed at incorporating 'Business and Data Intelligence' to identify and track revenue sources using data from May-22 to July-22. Project Overview: -Objective: Developing a KPI Dashboard to help AtliQ track revenue sources and other key performance indicators (KPIs). Problem Statement: Identify data sources, clean and model data, and create a revenue dashboard with relevant filters for in-depth analysis. Tools Used: Power BI for visualization, Power Query for data transformation, and Power Pivot for creating relationships between tables. Key Highlights: - Imported, analyzed, and transformed data in Power Query. - Developed interactive visualizations and filters in Power BI. - Provided both high-level summaries and granular insights to support strategic business decisions.
