Pilot's in India are least communicative. Is it part of the DGCA or their inhouse training or the eligibility criteria for airline pilots, that they should be non communicative once they occupy the cockpit. If the flight is getting delayed on the tarmac after the doors are closed, then the paying passenger has all the right to know the reason. The default doubt is that there is technical glitch. A flight that is supposed to fly at 5:15 if it doesn't get a push back by 5:42 then communication is what the passenger expects. That simple announcement explaining why the delay, helps alleviate the stress of delayed flight. Gone are the times when flying was for leisurely business trip Now, with the connecting flights involved as tier 2 & 3 cities are coming on the aero maps, the delays throw the planning in the air. Also with the same day return philosophy in place, any delay eats into whatever little me time was planned. Given all that if the pilot can just make the announcement, the airline will also not brickbats. What say?

Government Policies: Authoritarian regimes often restrict freedoms of speech, assembly, and expression. 2.Discrimination: Based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc., leading to unequal treatment & opportunities. 3. Poverty: Lack of access to basic needs such as food, shelter, healthcare, & education can deprive people of their rights. 4. Conflict and War: Armed conflicts can lead to mass displacement, violence, & violations of human rights. 5. Corruption: Corrupt systems can perpetuate inequality & deny citizens their rights by favoring certain groups or individuals. 6. Social Norms: Cultural practices or traditions may restrict certain groups from enjoying their full human rights. Addressing these factors often requires concerted efforts from governments, civil society, & international organizations. #politics #nobelprize India’s prime minister Narendra Modi is ready to form a government in a coalition with Telugu Desam party of Andhra Pradesh led by Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar of Bihar, both highly regarded former Chief Ministers of their states with significant accomplishments credited to them. Opposition minority led by Congress and a fractured set of many regional parties represented in parliament has been in the state it is because of the Machiavellian politics and corruption of India’s educated socialist elites since 1947, many of whom have found their way to the West currying favor with US Democrats, UK Labor Party, and European socialists. It is these Indian socialists who have benefited from Bill Clinton’s and British and European outsourcing boom in Information Technology (IT) services since 1993. As a part of this Machiavellian politics, Congress had rejected what India calls “special status” to states in the Union in need to Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. It gave statehood as special status to Telangana which claimed the revenue rich capital Hyderabad, the city I grew up in after the partition of Andhra Pradesh, the state I was born in, all of it being a single state until 2014. I was in India when the Congress led by Sonia Gandhi fumbled the ball and lost the election amidst allegations of corruption in coal mining against the Manmohan Singh government, bringing Modi to power. Since 2014, the corruption has changed political parties from the Congress to Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), making Modi’s Gujarati merchant classes Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani very wealthy, with another 198 billionaires in tow, their assets not fully accounted for by the Government. India’s corruption, mostly bribery, pervades the rank and file of both the public and private sectors, always did, and is as much a way of life for all Indians as is Hinduism as a religion. The country is yet to learn how to be ‘legally corrupt’, an oxymoron, akin to corruption in the West by buying the law itself with money to stand up appearances of legitimacy and law abidance by interest groups. The West is also becoming brazen in its corruption now, similar to India, succumbing to law breaking bribery. So is most of the rest of the world. Naidu and Nitish Kumar may now get special status for their states from Modi which they did not get from Congress before 2014 to its own detriment to lend Modi their support in parliament. Both are sensible and have a decent track record of at least getting something done for their people. Modi’s coalition, unless the Congress plays spoil sport by creating parliamentary instability to return to power by 2029, in 5 years, could remain stable and get things done by moderating its extreme right wing politics since 2014. India’s salvation, however, as of rest of the world lays not in poverty and militarism for GDP competition but in global #sustainability.

Ukraine-Russia Conflict: A Path to Negotiated Stability? Trump was notably hesitant to confront Russia directly, expressing more interest in Cooperation than Conflict. Adani indictment case has some important issues for cops and professionals. First across country electronic surveillance was done since they have been quoted in evidence. Presumably judicial warrant was taken. So Pegasus kind of instrument would haVE BEEN USED. CIA's massive capacity for world wide surveillance is well known. Wonder if Apple mobile owners got the warnings. Second emails were also tracked taking advantage of the servers based abroad again presumably on judicial warrant - wonder whether read on foreign citizens at all. But if surveillance was done on Indian citizens for investigation, should Indian court's permission was not read? Just a thought. Third US investors invest all over the world. Is it possible to monitor all for criminal activity. In this case whistle blower gave the lead. Interesting - was it corporate or political rivalry . Fourth - Indictment has huge implications on functioning style of corporates in bidding or selling to Govts and PSUs as well as on the latter. Though bidding process is online, it seems there is still a lot to be looked into. Corporate functioning must move out of the clutches of Govts jurisdiction they work under. lastly state Govts and the centre must not encourage favourite corporate houses but encourage fair competition and keep ma distance from all. Only then open cheques will come for political parties depending on their economic policies. We will then catch up on 75 years a bit

Have we normalised #Hathras stampede like tragedies in India as inevitable ? The aftermath of these events follows the same template - express condolences, announce compensation, and promise FIR against the organisers. There is a simple, effective and more humane way to prevent the reoccurrence of these tragedies. All it takes is to insist on a crowd management plan, review it for effectiveness and implement it properly for these sort of events. You will be surprised to know that there are several movement planners in India who do exactly this sort of work, day in and day out, for foreign countries sitting in back offices of multinationals located in India. Directorate of Urban Land Transport - I request you to prepare a "Crowd Management Guidelines" and issue it to all Urban Local Bodies in Karnataka. Rajeev Gowda - Request your intervention too to highlight this in the Cabinet meeting so that Directorate of Urban Land Transport prepares this. I am not sure if you have noticed, the Government has not only failed to establish #BMLTA, it is also inadvertently running down Directorate of Urban Land Transport without full-time and effective leadership. The Kolkata rape and murder case.... a crisis of leadership and a complete collapse of character building. It fills me with a great sense of indescribable shame and deep and pervasive pain and grief. What will we do with a 5 trillion$ economy, bullet trains, AI supported world order, landing on the mars ect... when young daughters are being butchered and raped and then burnt to erase any semblance of a clue that could perhaps reveal the truth partially. Many talk about a nexus motivated by party politics, big money, lust and carnal desires, sinister secrets ect. How do these explanations matter as these are repeated ad infinitum, year after year, decade after decade. The tragic events in Kolkata highlight a systemic failure, where leadership at multiple levels—familial, educational, and societal—has faltered. This is not just a call to action but a demand for accountability. It is a reminder that leadership is about more than policies and procedures; it is about shaping hearts and minds, ensuring that every person is equipped with the moral strength to navigate the complexities of life with integrity and compassion. I am embarrassed to say that we in corporate India lead marginalised professional lives. We are onlookers and at the most commentators. We must move centre stage.... this is not new it keeps happening..so many times may be reported becuase of ulterior motives...thousands go unreported...after nirbhaya now this...... we must find our voices, our courage to mobilise action.... and as they say ...' courage is the most beautiful colour of the mind'.

The act outlines licensing procedures, safety regulations, and penalties for violations. Impact of the Proposed Explosives Bill 2024 The proposed Explosives Bill 2024 aims to achieve several key objectives: - Streamlined Licensing: The new bill proposes simplifying the process of obtaining licenses for handling explosives. This could benefit businesses by reducing bureaucratic hurdles. Increased Fines: The bill proposes steeper fines for violations compared to the existing act.
