How can you use CSR performance communication to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals?
Communication is the backbone of Sustainability. It is critically important to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. An impact ful Sustainability program hinges in identifying what is important ( materiality) , for whom it is important (stakeholders), to what extent is important (risks and opportunities) and what is the road map to achieve the targets with respect to the entire value chain. Communication about this targets, goals and how we are making progress to achieve them is absolutely critical.

How can you prioritize CSR over other initiatives as a board member?
As a Board Member, if I am in the CSR Committee, I will make sure that adequate time and attention is given to this subject by: - Demonstrating value of CSR to others by linking it to business priorities - Help put in place a car strategy with SMART goals and targets - Ensure adequate time and attention is given to monitoring performance; by using the Sustainability Excellence framework to ensure there is a clear approach, uniform deployment, Learning and integration and innovation. - Meaningful engagement with stakeholders.

What are the key mindset shifts for freelancers transitioning to a sustainability career?
I am assuming that the people in question would have a Sustainability/ EHS/ ESG/ Energy management/ Environment Management background. Surely, the space is growing but anyone aspiring to work in this space must certainly have some hands-on experience of having handled related fields.

With a global team of industry expert co-authors and researchers, our mission is to contribute to the UN 2030 Agenda by engaging and guiding the private sector. By end of 2021 SHERPA Institute plans to have completed 17 hardbound books – one per SDG - featuring real-world case studies that are replicable, relatable and scalable. Corporations will gain clear guidance for integrating the UN SDGs into their strategies and operations. We seek to guide businesses in generating new business opportunities, gaining competitive advantages, and increasing resilience, by implementing solutions to the challenges identified in the UN 2030 Agenda.
The UN SDG8 Corporate Guidebook is focused on Full Employment, Decent Work, and Driving Sustainable Economic Growth.

the worsening global food crisis,
accelerating transport emissions,
loss of ocean biodiversity,
and a generation lost to unemployment.
Based on these risks, we mapped 15 corresponding opportunities via a thorough review process with experts and a global survey engaging more than 5,500 leaders. The 2016 report thus continues to build
