Not many people know the amount of focus we have on Tech at GGI. I am part of a generation in which Edtech has a bad name. I genuinely think the honest objective with which Edtech started has been lost somewhere in the rounds of #funding, exits, youtubers bashing each other game. Edtech was started to ensure the child without books, infrastructure or desk studies realizes her full potential - because of the power of internet. In a world where majority of Edtech are now investing in offline centres -(too much on the name of Edtech). We at GGI are continously building larger and purposeful technology to teach #Reimagined Management and Public Policy to those who are in the remotest corner of not just India but the globe. It's been 4 years since we are building and rebuilding #TheTrinity by GGI (link in comment). It hosts few of the top masterclasses by legendary CEOs and Chairman on our internal platform (BlackRock Asia Chairman, McKinsey & Company Global CEO, BCG Chairman etc). And I always tell our scholars to not do Netflix and chill. Replace it with Trinity and chill while at GGI. Why ? Because getting entertained is easy but getting educated is tough. I am very proud of the tech interns who have contributed to our mission to only later join Google, Bain and Amazon. Hence to bring Edtech on the main map again- We need players who are focussed on mission and not driven by IRRs or short term investor game. (nothing wrong with investors if you can stay true to your long term mission). Meet Kartik, who did just that, achieving a stellar 685 on the GMAT Focus Edition, placing him in the 97th percentile. Through unwavering diligence and strategic approach, Kartik transformed his performance in Verbal from the 43rd percentile to an impressive 98th percentile and improved to the 96th percentile in Data Insight. 1. 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Starting with a 43rd percentile in Verbal, Kartik soared to the 98th percentile. Despite a math background, he struggled initially. Learning the process skills taught in the course and focused practice on the cementing quizzes made all the difference. 3. 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲: A section that initially seemed daunting turned into Kartik’s strength, taking him from the 56th to the 96th percentile in just 40 days. While building Bibli, we are approaching product growth as a 3 stage process each dependent on the previous: 1. Engagement and Retention - Get children to spend time consistently 2. Learning Outcome - Measure improvement in learning 3. Monetisation - If 1 and 2 happens, monetisation will happen. Before that, any effort to monetise and/ or scale will misfire. After multiple iterations, we are close at solving goal 1 - a significant chunk of acquired users are now using the platform even post a month. Moving to goal 2 - learning outcome. “By creating a roadmap, you achieved nothing. You just put words on paper” said provocatively Eitan Gersh Kaplawi (Senior PM at Gloat), my latest webinar guest as we discuss basic flaws of roadmaps. Here are my top three learnings from our session: 🛑 Stop treating roadmaps as achievements: What matters is what you build. So while nailing a roadmap seems like the culmination of a process, it’s not end, rather the beginning of the process to build a great product 👍 Plan your roadmap for the period with high certainty: Do don’t waste your time on building a detailed roadmap for 12 months in case your certainty decreases to “maybe” beyond 6 months. Focus on the time horizon you have high certainty for 💬 Poll your stakeholders monthly: To achieve buy-in and support for your roadmap, make sure you collect feedback monthly from key stakeholders and update the roadmap. India’s Oyo, once valued at $10 billion, is finalizing new funding at a $2.5 billion valuation. This marks a steep decline from its $10 billion valuation in 2019. The startup, which has raised over $3 billion from backers like SoftBank, Peak XV Ventures, Lightspeed, Airbnb, and Microsoft, has struggled to attract institutional investors. In recent months, it has aggressively pitched to high-net-worth individuals after withdrawing its IPO application twice in the past four years. The Jagged Path to Ecosystem Value Creation 🧐 In an ecosystem, value creation is not a straight line. 〰️ Though the adage says the fastest way to get someplace is to go in a straight line, the truth is that the straight line from point A to point B misses out on a lot of ‘value pathways’ that the ecosystem can deliver by explicitly not going in a straight line. 🔐 These new pathways or vectors serve to unlock the potential that exists in a network. When companies partner together, there can be any number of different start points, midpoints, and endpoints associated with the creation of value. 📋 If we go about trying to understand ecosystem value creation with only what we know, we close ourselves off from an exploration of the art of the possible. It's only by exploring and experimenting with new pathways that we find out what works. Instead of a straight line from A to D, we end up with all kinds of different permutations. We identify which patterns have the greatest value, invest in those, measure those, and nurture those. ✔️ The basic message is that ecosystem value, especially in two-sided marketplaces, is inevitably not going to be a straight line. If we try to corral the innovation that could come in new product ideas or the creativity that could come in new routes to market, we will undermine the objective of unlocking ecosystem potential. ✔️ Before you orchestrate an ecosystem first explore and experiment to prove what works, then add wood to the fire by orchestrating all the players.  #ecosystemorchestration

Here’s the scoop on why: 1) The Market: When I said it the first time people said, “where’s the TAM (addressable market) for low cal zero sugar. The reality -  India is the “Diabetes Capital of the World”, with 140 million diabetics, 17% of the global population. This is totally relevant for these consumers. To add to this, the healthy population is growing and people are reading labels (credit to my friend Revant Himatsingka). I myself have been on a sugar-free for 5 But, even I crave something sweet now and then. And my go to is always - ice cream 🍦 2) Founder: There is energy and then there’s Kiran Shah! He hails from a family legacy of 50+ years in ice cream and invented one of India’s most famous ice cream innovations - the guava chilli flavor. Like me, he wanted to take his family legacy forward in a new way. Yes, maybe I’m biased to founders like him because they have a massive right to win! 3) Growth: I don’t say it often enough but, they’ve exceeded all expectations! 🍨 Grown >10x as a business  🍨 Expanded to 16 cities, 🍨 Grown 7X on quick commerce. 4) Product: In food, taste trumps everything. Over everything I absolutely love the product and so do most people who I make try it. And, the company has launched some of the most interesting flavors - from chocobar and nostalgic mango duets to a jamun sriracha pop!
