The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) to conduct a study on logistics costs in India for 2023-24. The MoU aims to examine major determinants and influencing factors in each sector of the economy, as well as intangible and indirect elements of sub-elements, including the cost of delay. My family GP doctor charges 1000 rupees for a consultation. This was 800 rupees a year ago and pre-Covid it was Rs 500. Of course in a smaller city, the fee would be much less. The point is costs are rising everywhere. And this is where Larsen & Toubro has been doing a great job since 1968 in democratizing access to quality healthcare for all (you do not have to be an employee) through L&T Health Centres where anyone can seek consultation from specialists for only Rs 30.
