𝗦𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶 𝗕𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗖𝗙 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 In today’s session on International Coaching Federation Coaching Competencies, we delved into the essence of 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, the 5th competency, through the lens of Indic Wisdom. While Western philosophies often focus on the ‘What’ of Coaching; the ‘How’ is beautifully encapsulated in Indic Wisdom. The ancient practice of Sakshi Bhava (The Attitude of Witness) is one such practice that helps any Coach to master the ‘How.’ This week we learnt and practiced Sakshi Bhava as it is a transformative approach that can significantly enhance the Coach to 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. By cultivating this attitude, Coaches can develop a heightened sense of awareness and presence, which is crucial in enabling their Clients effectively. Here’s an exploration of how Sakshi Bhava can be integrated into Coaching: Thanks to Krishna appa, these sessions have been helping us ground ourselves into traditions and also into the basics and simplicity. 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶 𝗕𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗮 Sakshi Bhava is about observing without attachment, engaging in the World without being overwhelmed by it. Thank you Sandhya Mathur MCC and Debeshi Chakraborty for this wonderful interaction. A lot of gratitude to Marcia Reynolds, PsyD, MCC who was up at 5 am to share her wisdom with us. My key takeaway’s: 1. Coaching takes both compassion and courage. 2. What differentiates human coaches from AI coaches is Presence. 3. Unselfing - get out of your head while coaching.
