How does one navigate and embrace ambiguity as a product manager? That was the focus of a session by Twinkle Yadav, Director Product Management – Intelligent Automation, at 'The PowerPack PM', a monthly interactive learning series for Target in India's (TII) Women In Product community. TII’s Women in Product community is dedicated to connecting, growing, and supporting women in product, and hosts several sessions over the year to empower women to advance their career journey by fueling their intent to learn and grow. In a talk demystifying ambiguity for product managers, Twinkle uncovered the various types of ambiguity at each stage of the product cycle, why it matters in a constantly changing external environment, and strategies to effectively manage external and internal causes of ambiguity. "Acknowledge that ambiguity is a given - you can either embrace it or eliminate it,” shared Twinkle. “Break it into smaller chunks and tackle what you know first, then connect the dots and think of the whole roadmap. Never assume you know everything…stay relevant and adapt. You need to address ambiguity or else it will kill action, progress and direction, and can even cause conflicts."
