Salesforce is incomplete without decorators in LWC. It’s a subject that you absolutely can’t overlook as a Salesforce Developer. So let’s demystify how decorators function :) Decorators in Lightning Web Component (LWC) are design patterns that add behaviors to JavaScript Objects, dynamically altering or modifying their functionality. There are three types of Decorators in LWC: @api: → This decorator exposes public properties or methods. If a value of a property changes, the component is re-rendered. → It’s used to pass data from parent component to child component and can be exposed in an App builder. @track: → This decorator exposes private properties or methods, also known as Private reactive properties. → It’s used to track a private property and to re-render component when that property changes. @wire: → This decorator is used to read the Salesforce data from apex class into Lightning web components. → The component is re-rendered when wire service provisions the data from apex class. How to Approach a Salesforce User Requirement ? Hey everyone! I wanted to share how I usually approach a Salesforce user requirement. Here’s my step-by-step process: 1.Start by talking to the users and stakeholders. Get a clear idea of what they need and what problem they’re trying to solve. 2.Look at the existing system to see what’s already in place and where the gaps are. 3.Clearly outline what the project will include and set realistic timelines. Make sure everyone is on the same page. 4.Plan out the solution. This includes technical design, data models, and any customizations needed. Visual aids like diagrams can be really helpful here. 5.Start developing the solution. This could involve creating custom objects, fields, flows, Apex code, or Lightning components. 6.Make sure to test the solution thoroughly. This includes unit tests, integration tests, and getting feedback from users. 7.Once testing is done, deploy the solution to production. Provide training sessions to help users understand the new features. 8.After deployment, gather feedback from users and make any necessary adjustments. Continuous improvement is key! I mentioned about CTI integration, so asked about call log generation in Salesforce via standard APIs. 3. How have you handled edge cases in the code that you have written. (specific to your project) 4. Error retry and error logging mechanisms when inserting data into db using apex. 5. Performance impact while using @track decorators in LWC. 6. Explanation of the integration scenario I have worked on. The authentication technique used and the end-to-end flow. 7. Have you worked on setting up SSO? Do you have idea on what is SSO? 8. Have you worked on git commands? 9. I have a batch on accounts in which for each account I process, I want to send an email plus check a checkbox on the account. What would be your approach? Where would you send the email, in the execute method or in the start method? Will you be hitting any governor limits? 10. I have an LWC to display data to unauthenticated guest user in community. How will you give permission to the user and display data? 11. What if the user wants to create or update the records how do you give access? 12. I have an apex method which I want to call in with sharing mode for internal authenticated users but for unauthenticated users I want to call it in without sharing mode. How would you achieve that? This was a pure technical round and focus was on in depth understanding of core apex and LWC concept. Formula in Salesforce: Formula Fields are Read Only System Generated Fields, whose value will be generated by the Salesforce Application by default, based on the specified formula/expression. Formula Field values can't be editable by the users. We can change the formula field value by updating the "Source Field" value. An object can have one or more Formula Fields. Upon changing the Source Field value, the Formula field value will get re-calculated automatically by default. Note: While creating the Formula field, we have to select the Datatype as "Formula". Salesforce provides a Set of readymade functions that can be used upon preparing the formula. Functions: 1. Abs (Number): This function returns the Absolute value of the specified number. Ex: Abs (-45.345) --> 0/p: 45.345 2. Sqrt (Number): It returns the square root value of the given number. Ex: sqrt (144) > 0/p: 12 3. Len (string): It returns an integer value, which indicate the number of characters exist in the specified string. (Spaces also counted as a character) Ex: Len ('Welcome To Hyderabad') --> 0/p: 20 4. Trim() It removes the blank spaces that exist before/ after the specified string.  ‘ 5. Upper (string): It converts all the characters that exist in the string into upper-case letters. 6. Lower (string) It converts all the characters that exist in the string into Lower case letters. 7. Floor (number): It returns the nearest lower value of the given number. Ex: Floor (14.1) --> 14 8. Ceiling (Number): It returns the nearest higher value of the given number. Ex: Ceiling (14.6) --> 15 9. Left(string, <Number of Characters>):): It returns the specified number of characters from the Left side of the string. Ex:  Left (Welcome', 3) --> 0/p: Wel 10. Right (string, <Number of Characters>): It returns the specified number of characters from the Right side of the string. Ex: Right ('Welcome, 3) --> 0/p: ome 11. Substring (string , <Integer startingposition> , <Integer Number of Characters>): It returns the specified number of characters from the specified starting position in the string. Substring('Welcome to Hyderabad',4,5) --> O/p 'come’ 12. Today (): It returns Today's system date. (mm/dd/yyyy) 13. Year (Date): This function will return the "Year" portion of the specified date. 14. Month(Date): This function returns the month value of the specified date. Ex: Month (Today ()) --> 0/p: 06 15. Day (Date): This function returns the Date value of the specified date. 16. If (<Conditions>, <True>, <False>): If is a conditional statement, which evaluates all the specified conditions and returns TRUE, If all the conditions are satisfied else it returns FALSE. 17. Image (<Path Of the Image>, Alternate Text [, Height, Width] ) By using this function, we can display the images dynamically at a time in the record detailed page. 18.
