If you are into investments/markets, and aren't aware about what's happening with Nvidia, you are surely living under a rock A CAGR of 75%+ in last 10 years 400%+ in last 5 years 100%+ in last 3 years 200%+ in last 1 year These are not some numbers you can say "wow" and just move on. These are really mind shattering numbers. And this is not like a BSE listed operator driven company. It has been built on a serious 20 year+ long vision by the founder. And it's now the most valuable company of the world. Where Google, Amazon and Apple have been racing for #1 position for ages, imagine a player comes from 100th+ position and in 2-3 years just surpasses everyone to be leading. Just like Aamir Khan in Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar 🤣 I've been reading and hearing a lot of stories of employees who are retiring by age of 35/40, even younger. They have minted millions through ESOPs already. A trouble sign for the company if all great talent retires and leaves early. Drawbacks of success hehehe. I had first heard about Nvidia in 2006 during my Computer Science Engineering when batchmates interest in gaming, wanted to buy Nvidia graphics card for their systems. Little was I aware then that it will become this behemoth. It's an investment miss from my side, just like so many companies in hindsight 😂 But what amazing stories to hear from friends and their friends who have bought 4-5 houses in tier 1 and 2 cities in last 1 year and many more assets 😄 Incredible story. In a survey performed by nasscom with more than 360 deep tech startups in India, have showed that 580 patent were filed in AI, 130 in IoT and 120 in neurotechnology. Top deep tech startups that have filled patents were WiSig Networks, Netradyne, Qure.ai and Miko (Chiratae Ventures portfolio). What does it mean to Indian startup ecosystem? 1. With ease in filling patent and new domain experts onboarded for timely completion of patenting. Indian startups are set to claim their expertise globally. 2. In this talk, I would first illustrate the above challenge using examples of program analysis aimed at enabling stack allocation of heap objects in Java. We would see how we have developed techniques to not only allocate a large number of objects on stack (leading to reduced garbage collection and improved performance), but to also handle challenges posed by possible dynamism in Java Virtual Machines. "We did not care, but 80 -> 10k happened in 5 months" Vizuara's YouTube channel crossed 10k subscribers yesterday. No big deal. There are thousands of great channels out there. However, I just wanted to share a few interesting things from our channel's growth from 80 subscribers 5 months ago (Feb 2024) till now (July 2024). 1) We honestly never cared about building our YouTube channel and building up subscribers. So the channel was mostly dormant. 2) At some point our team decided that we would like to learn new things from various domains of research (including AI/ML) and product development. 3) We figured out that the best way to learn things for our own benefit is to teach others. So we decided to start teaching on YouTube. 4) There were a few questions. What should be optimized for? YouTube algorithm or just the content? We decided to go ahead with the content. 5) We create content based on what we enjoy learning and teaching rather than what the YouTube analytics say. This way we don't care about the outcome but more about the process. 6) If we did care about the outcome, then why am I talking about the 10k subscribers? Because I am just amused to see that without focusing much on channel growth, it just naturally happened. I just wanted to share that experience. 7) I have never asked in any lecture video to subscribe to the channel. But since subscribers are coming naturally I am tempted to think how much the channel will grow in the future. I predict that Vizuara's YouTube will reach 100k subscribers before Dec 31 2025 and 1 million subscribers before Dec 31, 2028. 8) Do I not care about the channel growth now? I think I care now since it feels like a baby growing. 9) So what is our plan? We will continue to learn interesting concepts that will help our product development and convert whatever we learn into a lecture series on YouTube. 10) When interesting papers come out we will review them on our channel. 11) We will not focus on YouTube analytics to decide what content to create. The only optimization we will try to do is in the thumbnails. 12) We will not focus on the editing of the video too much. Our singular focus will be the answer to the following question: "If 100 people watch this lecture, will 90+ people understand it well"? If the answer is yes we will publish the lecture. 13) We will continue to use a good quality mic, camera, and slides 14) We will invite knowledgeable fields people from different fields for making lecture on topics that are interesting but we are not experts at. WhatsApp is working on third party interoperable messaging apps integration within the WhatsApp interface. This will enable you to manage the chats of all third party apps like Telegram, Google Messages, Signal on WhatsApp itself. One can directly send text msg and media files without switching the app. This will definitely go to see mass adoption as this will turn out a medium for us to separate personal chats with non-personal ones. But, here is a catch. It is being brought only in Europe due to the European Digital Market Act regulations. It should be brought to India as well as this opens up a lot of opportunities for other smaller messaging platforms as users can access them from one interface. What are your thoughts on this?
