(Publisher SEO - NEW) Google on Android devices is now testing sending notifications to users based upon their recent search activity. Users are usually getting notifications which link to Google Search and top of results - shows the article and some other info (see attached screenshot) What notification?? Mostly it's based upon user search history! that's why I think that click through rate to an article from the notification can be really high because the user has been searching about that previously - which shows real user interest about the topic!! On another note different variations of "mentioned" have been around in Google Discover (I love to optimise a publisher site to show up in Discover 🤩) Here is what I have been tracking and some old tweets of mine about it. Backlinks still matter. Most SEO gurus are saying links do not matter. If you observe the top 5 SERP results for most queries, you'll understand that links still matter. So, find ways to build relevant links. Write on Quora, LinkedIn, Medium, etc. Find guest posting sites that accept guest contributions. This is how I optimize my image alt texts in 10 minutes: - I open my website’s CMS. - I navigate to the media library. - I select images on my most important pages. - I analyze the current alt texts for relevance and keywords. - I rewrite the alt texts to be more descriptive and keyword-rich. - I ensure each alt text accurately describes the image. - I update and save the changes. - I reindex the pages with updated images. BERTopic in python is a great way to identify the topical coverage of the website. I use it for many SEO cases: 1) Topical authority areas (ranking on SERP1) 2) Low-hanging fruits (SERP2) 3) Topical weakness (Beyond SERP 3 ) 4) Benchmark dropped traffic especially for content websites as they are more likely to suffer from dramatic drops.
