I was privileged to attend an extremely simple, yet insightful session on leadership by Mr. Vijay Sethi at the CIO&Leader conference as an ITNext100 Future CIO awardee. He shared 5 mantra's which essentially are integral for building the basic character for being a good leader. 1. Have good work ethics 2. Always have a positive attitude. 3. Nurture & inspire our teams 4. Focus on regularly enhancing our knowledge 5. Be a good human being. All of the above is nothing, if the leader does not demonstrate integrity, he said. One thing that resonated with me the most was his statement - "Good leaders do not create followers, they create more good leaders.". This statement brought back memories of my first tryst with formal leadership education when as a beginner in my professional journey I read the book, Good to Great - Jim Collins, where the author talks about Level 5 leadership who channelize their energies to build successors for their organizations. Something which had become a benchmark of my perspective of good leadership ever since. Creating perpetual organizations which transcend individuals. Of course, Mr. Vijay was talking about building good leaders at societal and business community level, which transcends organizations. As Dr. Prashun Dutta shared in his insights, it is our duty to repay the debt to society by contributing back and enabling others to become good leaders. All in all, a memorable and insightful weekend, where stalwarts took us back to first principles. Simplicity of #Indian technology makes it extremely tamper proof, integrated and scaled, a great large democracy process is executed with ease and predictability. Reducing complexity in the solution stack is key to improve #resilience and improve #maintainability. Unfortunately in my job, I see everyone starting with a statement that this is complicated or extremely complex. Key to building successful solution, is to uncomplicate things and bring in #modularity (to do one job really well) and #composability (to be a good team player in a larger ecosystem). Like in an orchestra if you are a good team player, the conductor can create a great symphony.

Great article, from Prof. Triveni Singh. My own jab is slightly different. #India, despite being an IT leader, has been slow to adopt global #cybersecurity standards, lagging behind other nations. While the country has made significant strides in #technology, its cybersecurity infrastructure has faced challenges, including a rapid and poorly managed adoption of multiple frameworks, a lack of #continuous improvement, and underutilization of domestic expertise. The #federal structure, with its strong dependency on central authority, has also hindered the sector's development, unlike the more #decentralized approaches seen in developed nations during the late 90s and early 2000s. The #babu culture and red tape that a competent nation loving professional may face to even present a ground breaking idea is whole epic which can have if not thousands ..hundred stories to share.

I have proposed a workshop for the marquee Agile Conference Agile India 2025 on the topic "Deciphering Human Intellect through the Power of Emotional Equations" In this workshop I intend to bring real time emotional situations faced by most of us in our transformations and how the power of emotional equations helps us to navigate out of this emotional trap. As I always say " It is not about Managing our Emotions it is about Balancing Emotions" which is the key message I try to bring out in the proposed workshop. I think its time for GOI to defunct IMD and avoid wasting Crores on them. All schools were closed today citing Red Alert heavy rainfall. And to my no surprise, I had predicted it will not rain, not even a single drop of rain so far and over and above it was sunny today!!! This is the third time it has happened Red/Orange Alert from IMD in last 2 years and totally opposite. Real pity state of IMD and our weather predictions. In India, Cyber securities are only a matter of concern when a financial transaction is involved, govt agencies responsible for this are also taken seriously only when financial systems like banking and allied departments are involved. Because of this mentality, the cyber attack was made on AIIMS New Delhi, and other state data centers where the data from a government point of view is not so important as it does not have financial matter. On the other hand, more than 1000 cases per day of financial fraud are happening, which is not a serious matter of concern. as it takes months to revert a part of amount for only less percentage. The awareness about cyber security to common people is also not being popularized in a huge level as a result these frauds happen. The surveillance before cyber fraud is also not properly monitored, hence if a person reports within the timeframe of cyber fraud is also not reverted. Manpower who are responsible for preventing cyber-attacks are also very limited and fluctuates as a result the person has to start the system from scratch.

"The hidden truth about your IT services: Are You Building/delivering what customers really need?" This weekend happened very good to me. I met a few good people, built new contacts and network. The best thing happened is a podcast I just completed : https://lnkd.in/dhFaZJtQ I really loved it but the most amazing term I came across was "stated vs revealed preferences" and that I could connect with a few deals I have been dealing with at my job. The real life example of stated vs revealed preferences is like a friend of mine says he want to eat healthy and go to the gym (stated preference). However, when you look at his actual behavior, he always choose pizza over salad and haven’t gone to the gym in months (revealed preference). This is how the prospects has behaved in last few months or may be I can say since I have started dealing with them. Now I can differentiate between what they say and what they want. That will help me to deliver better from tomorrow. let me know if you have experienced such behaviour In your career or life journey. Dont forget to watch that podcast. lets discuss!

Excited to share that I have successfully completed the rigorous and challenging course "Leadership with AI" from Indian School of Business ! Many thanks to Milind Naik for your highly engaging guidance, and to the distinguished professors and my diverse, knowledgeable, interactive fellow learners who made this learning journey so enlightening, inspiring and fun ! So, why this course...and why now ? The annual growth of production deployments of AI projects was only 2% to 5%, even though the planned deployment was 17-25% between 2019-2024 [Gartner research]  WHY ?   The failure rate for AI projects has been unfortunately high, ranging from the optimistic estimation of 18% by Deloitte to the 85% estimated by Gartner.  WHY ? Common failure causes are found to be low clarity, scalability and RoI with respect to the business applications of AI projects, ineffective risk and change management at all levels, lack of relevant, high quality data, execution capability gaps – pointing to a need for more integrated leadership, from defining the AI opportunity ambition, facilitating change, risk Vs reward trade-offs, enabling crucial data infrastructure, and building required execution and scaling capabilities. In addition, we need to consider the critical aspects of AI governance, ethics, responsibility, explainability and privacy-security. According to Gartner's 2024 Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, everyday AI is projected to reach mainstream adoption in less than two years. This, then, is the crucial time to refresh our understanding of the latest AI technologies, assimilate lessons learnt and frameworks applied, re-baseline our AI ambitions, review our execution and deployment strategies, strengthen governance and streamline the AI-integrated business value chain ! …and in a nutshell, these are exactly the learning goals addressed by the timely, well-structured upskilling provided by the Leadership with AI course, from the Indian School of Business. Organization of all the size are Vulnerable. Attacks on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) (with 100-5,000 employees) have significantly risen in India and accounted for nearly half of all such incidents in 2023. Among large organisations, only 10% of those attacked paid ransom, whereas with SMEs, 44% ended up paying amounts ranging between $25,000 and $100,000, according to data from cybersecurity firms.
