What can a company with a fleet comprised of 12,000 vehicles, that consume about 460,000 litres of fuel everyday, do to reduce its fuel costs that touch approximately Rs. 1500 crore annually? This is the challenge that Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL), one of India’s largest infrastructure development companies, was facing. The company has collaborated with IBM to deploy a fuel management system that enabled efficiency in distribution and prevent overconsumption of fuel.This association also witnessed implementation of an RTO document process system that has resulted in an estimated USD 96,000 savings so far.

DPDPA Compliance Solutions to be the focus of discussion at Delhi on May 12 FDPPI is continuing its journey across the country to discuss the implementation challenges of DPDPA amongst CIOs with two events in Delhi on May 11th and 12th. Event on May 11th is reserved for CIOKLUB members only. Event on May 12th is open for others. During this event we may see a special interest by solution providers who would be offering "Compliance Solutions". The Companies need to be able to evaluate solutions before adopting them since buying into any one solution is a long term commitment and dependence. Discussions on implementation challenges will open the doors for understanding the nuances of compliance so that the DPOs may be able to make a better choice. There is a craze for "Automated" and "AI Driven Compliance Solutions". We shall discuss how much of automation is feasible in compliance and how the DPOs may be able to evaluate their choices. In the process, we may discuss the concepts behind WebDTS, AI-DTS etc

I am happy to share my article published on CRN India, that highlights how today, every business recognizes the advantages of digitization; however, digitization is not an isolated, “one and done” activity, but rather, an ongoing endeavor of implementation and improvement. Hence a closed loop system or process with a continuous feedback mechanism allowing continuous monitoring, and modification when required, is critical for successful digitization; in addition, the system’s self-regulation capabilities improve stability and help to achieve targeted outcomes. Despite these directives, the necessary infrastructure has not been fully established, and there have been multiple instances where headers and templates have been misused. Unfortunately, telecom operators have not taken sufficient steps to address these issues or trace the origin of the problematic traffic. It seems that telecom companies( airtel, Vodafone Idea Limited) play a significant role in the issue of spam calls, as they are responsible for issuing phone numbers to organizations. In the past, it was easier to identify telemarketing calls because they typically came from numbers associated with specific agencies. However, the situation has evolved, and now spam calls can originate from common numbers, even those starting with familiar sequences like 98102... or 98105..., making it more challenging to differentiate between legitimate and unsolicited calls. This shift has contributed to the growing frustration among mobile users, as spam calls have become more pervasive and harder to avoid. Hey Telcos, it's high time to stop profiting from selling databases containing personal identifiable information (PII) to organizations and enterprises. By ceasing the sale of phone numbers to marketing agencies, you can significantly reduce the influx of spam calls that plague users daily. This is a call to action for the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to step in and address this pressing issue, ensuring better protection of consumer data and privacy. The responsibility lies with both telecom providers and regulators to take concrete steps toward curbing this nuisance.
