At the recently held VDMA India symposium on ‘Electric Mobility - Disrupting Technologies for the Transportation Industry’ in Bengaluru, Dattatri Salagame, CEO & Executive Vice- President, Bosch Global Software Technologies Pvt Ltd share an insightful presentation on the development of the #emobility market in China. In an exclusive interaction with Rajesh Nath, Managing Director, VDMA India Pvt Ltd, Dattatri Salagame drew comparisons with the #Indianmarket and pointed out that China has a unique #trajectory and is bolstered by #policysupport and much #higheradoption. India, according to him, is taking a very #calibratedapproach, and the country is currently focusing on the two-wheeler market for city commutes and #lowpowervehicles, with the adoption of #threewheelercargo and intercity #lightcommercialvehicles expected to be higher. He cited that the #costofownership for passenger three-wheelers needs to be reduced, and the #fleet in India may also consider #electricvehicles, while #commercialvehicles may have a different #strategy. The adoption of #electricvehicles may increase if the #charginginfrastructure is improved. This can be done—he asserted—through a #publicprivatepartnership, #incentivizing individual homes, and using existing #infrastructure such as fuel stations and restaurants. Priced at ₹2.39 lakh, this sleek, futuristic machine is set to hit the roads by January 2025. As Raptee.HV charts an ambitious course, it seeks to raise $20 million to expand its horizons and scale up operations, all while the T30 promises an IDC-estimated range of 200 km and a real-world range of over 150 km on a single charge. He mentioned the "TVS Racing Electric One Make Championship" in reference to electric motorcycles, indicating that the company's development of TVS Apache RTE (Racing Throttle Electric) racing bikes was a precursor to what was to come in this area. "We may examine electric tricycles for freight and bicycles. We'll provide the whole line of items," he said. Electric three-wheelers, he said, have a great deal of potential and will expand quickly, especially in cities. Venu went on to say that there is more potential for three-wheeler freight applications in addition to passenger applications for both EV and CNG, as e-commerce and logistics advance.
