This really showcases the power that cloud-based IDEs can eventually provide the rest of the world, outside of Big Tech. Google, much like other large companies has tons of internal tooling for build systems (similar to Bazel or Buck), caching, version control, virtual file systems, dependency management, containerization, logging and monitoring, etc. Making tools like this more accessible outside of these companies with less maintenance required (meaning less engineering resources for tool development and maintenance) will be exponentially more powerful for engineering delivery as a whole. We are seeing this within many tools from GitHub, AWS, StackBlitz, GitPod, and many others. We are also seeing many Open-Source Build tools for monorepo management that rival these companies, such as Nx.dev, Turborepo by Vercel, Pants, Buck and Bazel. Docker and K8s has enabled containerization and scaling across the world via a single machine or multi-region + multi-cluster deployment strategy. We are now also seeing tech like WASM enter the space for building near-native applications that run in the browser. Most software developers will not admit this but the way to solve LeetCode with ease is to literally memorise the little algorithms/ steps that form the basis of the bigger problems. Here is a breakdown: Step 1: Try to solve a problem (you’ll probably fail at this step) Step 2: Look at the solution Step 3: Ask GPT to break it down (show all variables at all iterative/ recursive steps in detail) Step 4: Write the solution that you learned (Copy) Step 5: Write the solution that you learned on your own (From memory) Step 6: Repeat multiple times on different days till you get an intuition of the problem (this includes part memorisation of the steps) #leetcode #programming #dsa #algorithms #tech

But a workspace scenario kicked him out of his comfort zone and drove him to the fascinating world of the Stored Procedure 🎉. So, what was that glorious scenario? Okay, let’s hang tight, take a cup of coffee, and read carefully🤗. As part of Bob’s daily task, one day he was supposed to insert data into a table. He manually created a table with the specified schema and then inserted the necessary entries. So easy, right? Then his team lead instructed him to create a different table with the same schema again. He created a separate table again and inserted some data into the table 😮‍💨. The next day, his team lead instructed him to do the same task again as the previous day 😣. Now, being so irritated, he shared the problem with his colleague Alice. Alice smiled and asked him why he wasn’t using stored Procedure 🧐. So, what is this Stored Procedure actually⁉️? Have you ever faced the same problem as Bob? 🧲 We can handle the conditional SQL code using case expression. But can we reuse that code block? Yeah, using CTE, we can do that. But if we need to declare variables or loop through the entries and handle DDL task, then what? Here comes the use case of the stored procedure. ✅ Stored procedures are named blocks of SQL queries or code that can be called and executed multiple times from anywhere. These blocks of SQL code may contain a series of SQL statements, control structures, and variables. In a recent project, I implemented the Strategy design pattern to handle data downloads in multiple file formats. Specifically, I developed a FileDownloadStrategy interface with a download method to facilitate the downloading of data in Word and PDF formats. To manage the different strategies, I created concrete classes for each format—PDFDownloadStrategy and WordDownloadStrategy. Furthermore, to dynamically select the appropriate strategy based on the content type specified in the API request, I designed a factory method. This approach not only streamlined the process of downloading files in varying formats but also enhanced the system's flexibility and maintainability by decoupling the file downloading capabilities from the main application logic.

🚀 Unlocking Real-Time Web Updates with Long Polling 🚀 In today's digital landscape, delivering real-time updates is key to enhancing user experience—whether it's for chat apps, notifications, or live data feeds. One of the simplest yet effective ways to achieve this without diving into WebSockets is through long polling. 🤔 What is Long Polling? Long polling is a web development technique where the client makes an HTTP request to the server and waits for a response. Instead of responding immediately, the server holds the request open until new data is available or a timeout occurs. A suggestion of feature, which I think could be launched in #config2024😛 Now, since I’m GenZ+ Punjabi, I am not sure if my productivity while working will result better without Punjabi playlist. 🔄 Understanding Short Polling 🔄 In modern web applications, keeping clients updated in real-time is crucial—think live scores, stock prices, or chat applications. One common approach to achieve this is short polling. What is Short Polling? -Short polling is a technique where the client periodically makes HTTP requests to the server to check for any updates. For example, every few seconds, the client sends a request like "Any new updates?" and the server responds with the latest data. How Does Short Polling Work? Here’s a typical flow: -Client: Sends a request to the server at fixed intervals (say, every 2 seconds). -Server: Responds with the latest data or an empty response if there’s nothing new. -Client: Updates the UI if new data is received. This approach is simple and works well in scenarios where real-time updates are valuable but ultra-fast responsiveness isn’t critical. Pros and Cons of Short Polling: ✅ Pros: -Easy to implement with basic HTTP requests. -Works reliably, even without special server configurations. ❌ Cons: -Can be inefficient: even if there’s no new data, the client still makes requests. -Increased server load due to frequent requests, especially with many users. A mechanical engineer from any college can do the following: (1) Can build a neural network from scratch (2) Can make a full stack website (3) Can start Youtube channel to share knowledge (4) Can deploy LLM applications (5) Can learn to solve Leetcode DSA problems If you don’t like your branch of study, that’s fine. No need to box yourself based on your department of choice. You made a decision to choose a branch after 12th standard. That should not define what you learn. Everything is available for you to learn and master. The content for most of the above is available for free on Youtube. There is no excuse for additional learning: not your branch, not your college. Nothing defines your potential. Not society. Not your university. Not your grades. Not your professors. Not your parents. Only one person can decide your potential. That is you. P.S: Mechanical engineer is just an example. You can replace it with any field you feel you are stuck in currently.

🚀 My Week 1 Leetcode Problem! 🚀 Today, I completed this problem 861. Score after Flipping Matrix, achieved top performance optimizing a binary matrix score! The task was to maximize the score of an m x n binary matrix grid, where each row of the matrix is interpreted as a binary number. The score is the sum of these binary numbers converted to decimals. The solution involved strategically toggling rows and columns to maximize the overall matrix score. 🔍 Approach: My strategy focused on ensuring that the most significant bits in each row were maximized (flipped to '1') to enhance their decimal equivalent dramatically. But is it comforting when users are browsing the site and toggling between pages multiple times, especially on a site like Airbnb? Such intense animation will surely cause discomfort to motion-sensitive people. Especially for a travel app, when users are walking or moving in a vehicle if they constantly see these animations for a long duration, they may experience motion sickness. 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱? In my opinion, animations are beneficial when you are trying to convey an experience or tell a story about your product. However, if your website or app provides a large catalogue of items where users are expected to browse through many options before making a purchase, then it is not a good decision to have animations on your website. Be very particular when adding animations to your website. While animations might enhance the look and feel and make your site very appealing, they might also impact the overall interactive time on your website, which you definitely want to increase. Some supporting research says: 1. 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 (𝗗𝗘𝗦): Prolonged use of digital screens, including viewing animations, can lead to digital eye strain (DES), characterized by symptoms such as dryness, irritation, blurred vision, headaches, and difficulty focusing. This is especially prevalent among individuals who use computers and smartphones extensively. 2. This effectively slides the window of the subarray to the right. 6.Add to Count: Add the number of subarrays ending at index j to count.
