  • Noun Frequency Spectral Analysis of Complex texts

    This analysis publication is the output of the text analysis engine I created. It does language parsing of texts, by reading it character wise, word wise and sentence wise and detect nouns, verbs and other parts of speech in a sentence or phrase. It does a frequency spectral analysis of the detected nouns in the whole text thus identifying all the occurrences of any noun in the whole text and in the various sub-sections of the text and the frequency of occurrences of the noun in sub sections…

    This analysis publication is the output of the text analysis engine I created. It does language parsing of texts, by reading it character wise, word wise and sentence wise and detect nouns, verbs and other parts of speech in a sentence or phrase. It does a frequency spectral analysis of the detected nouns in the whole text thus identifying all the occurrences of any noun in the whole text and in the various sub-sections of the text and the frequency of occurrences of the noun in sub sections and in the whole text. This can be used in conjunction with OCR engines to perform Knowledge Analysis of OCR detected textual data or can be used independently on any large or small body of textual data. I have used it to analyze Rigveda, Mahabharata and other Indic and Greek texts.

    A text analysis engine that can analyse large sized texts like Mahabharata (an ancient Indian epic) with 100,000 verses and more than 4 million words. The engine will search out and detect all the nouns and other parts of speech in the texts, detect noun to noun relationships and create a Wiki web-site, similar to Wikipedia with a single page dedicated to each noun and it express the interconnections between nouns as hyperlinks. Created a web-site with this tool which has now become the 2nd most popular web-site after Wikipedia on topics related to Mahabharata, Ramayana, Iliad, Odyssey and other ancient texts containing 25,000 pages.

    The generated data is dumped as XLS files and as Wiki Pages. The data will contain all the nouns detected in the text given as input. The Wiki pages generated will include a single Wiki page for each noun and a single page for each section (chapter, volume or sub-section) of the whole input text. Text size can be huge, as big as Mahabharata or 100 times bigger than it.

    This is a unique application developed to showcase DirectX programming skills. I call it Game Surface because this is like a surface where characters can be dragged and dropped. As soon as the characters are dragged and dropped to the surface, they starts acting various actions encoded into them.

    This is a unique application developed to showcase DirectX programming skills. I call it Game Surface because this is like a surface where characters can be dragged and dropped.     Some of the actions may involve walking, flying, or running. If some of the moving characters happen to collide they will quickly negotiate at run time and avoid the collision. Not only characters, you can also drag and drop audio files, video files and text files. When audio files are dropped onto the surface and if the name of the audio file matches with the character existing in the surface, that sound gets attached to the character. For example if we drag and drop a character named cow into the surface and then drop an audio file named cow.wav, the sound inside the cow.wav (could be the cry of cow) get attached to the character cow. Thus you get a character with motion, animation and sound just by drag-and-drop. If video files are dropped the DirectShow engine which is part of this application intercept it and play the video file. If a text file is dropped (an ordinary notepad file) the SAPI (speech application programming interface) engine will intercept it and play it.

    There is also a control surface overlaid on top of the of this Game Surface. When user clicks on a character, all the actions (animations) encoded for that character is listed on the control surface as a control layout of action buttons. User can then click on them to make the character act out that particular action. The sprites can be 4-directional (East, West, North, South), 8-directional (NN, NE, EE, SE, SS, SW, WW, NW) or variable directional; the number of directions supported by the sprite too is detected automatically by the application. The application used DirectXGraphics for 2D / 3D graphics and DirectXAudio for sound. It also used DirectMusic API to render midi files.
