After the Reliance and Disney India merger, Disney+ Hotstar will serve as the only streaming platform. At first, it was said that Disney+ Hotstar would merge into Reliance's JioCinema, creating one big platform. Then Reliance was reportedly considering having two separate streaming platforms, one for sports and one for entertainment. However, recent reports suggest that Reliance has decided to keep Hotstar as the primary platform by merging JioCinema into it. The newly consolidated platform will reportedly be called "Jio Hotstar." The decision to merge JioCinema into Hotstar was influenced by Hotstar's superior technological infrastructure. Initially, only sports content, such as IPL, was expected to shift to Hotstar, but now it is reported that the two platforms will be fully merged. The company is preparing to stream Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Disney+Hostar. It will be interesting to see how this turns out in the future. What are your thoughts on this shift? Yesterday, while ordering detergent through Swiggy Instamart, I noticed a listing for 1000 ml priced at INR 125. At first, it grabbed my attention, but quickly I realized it was just 1 liter. It seems they've designed it to catch the eye of hurried users, possibly nudging them towards a purchase. It impacts so many lives we can never imagine. If you're affected or looking for new opportunities, I hope this helps. Here’s how to stand out and secure referrals in the most strategic way: 1️⃣ The resume should always be related to the job description. For eg. If JD mentions experience in Java or Spring, highlight your Java project in your resume first. 2️⃣ Never apply to a job directly when you need a referral. Just share the job ID link and once you get a referral, apply from the link received in the mail. 3️⃣ When reaching out for a referral, never just text - ‘Hi.’ Better to mention the reason in the first line of the message itself. Ensure you follow up within 2-3 days. 4️⃣ Share your resume in pdf format and the name format preferably should be Name_Role_Resume.pdf. 5️⃣ Getting referrals does not guarantee interviews. First of all his company should stop spreading lies that it's free of cost It's free of cost because their Maps platform is using OSM(Open Street Maps) data which is an open-source Maps database so they don't have to pay anything to them but can say for sure that the accuracy of OSM data won't be that great in a developing and rapidly changing country like India where in a single day anything can happen. A very common observation about millennial dual career parents 👨‍💻👩‍💻in metros (esp. if they were raised in tier 2 cities) is that they - 💰👶 severely over-manage career/money (save & compound), parenting/raising kids and 🧘‍♀️👫 significantly under manage health, self-care, relationship with partner/spouse. Usually forgetting how the lack of latter affects the former in the long-term. It's mostly because of middle class values where we are usually never taught that: 💒 Just like career & wealth, marriage or romantic partnership also needs work & investment of time. The project doesn't end once you find a match and "settle down". 🐁 Beyond a point where you can afford a comfortable, secure life - rat race is really a choice. You don't have to keep running. A little bit rest is not a sin. 🏃‍♀️ Self-care (esp. if you are a mother) is as important or even more important than focusing on raising Einsteins. Research has time and again proven that the biggest predictors of happy, emotionally healthy & well-balanced adulthood (for a child) is - mother's happiness/well being and the relationship between parents. And we all agree that good health and a loving home can work wonders for one's work life. Well as a working mother those are the most important lessons I have learnt in the last 2 years (unfortunately the hard way) Would love to hear more thoughts from millennial parents 😊

1. A crore is still a crore regardless of how big the company is. You’re still answerable to shareholders. 2. Even if they had a crore to spare, this would only encourage others to do the same and make a quick buck. 3. Domain squatting, while is a grey area in India, is illegal in many countries and is unethical regardless. 4. Buying a domain (and possibly many others as a backup) is not an entrepreneurial skill. It costs barely ₹300-400 to buy a domain these days.

“My worst technical interview experience” . While trying to switch, I interviewed at Coinbase for the role of SDE 2. Now, let me clarify, the issue wasn’t with Coinbase—it was my incorrect expectations and irrelevant preparation. I assumed it would be a standard DSA round, but it was a Q coding round. I didn’t clarify with the recruiter and wasted time optimizing a straightforward problem. The real test was applying OOP concepts and refactoring. 🔹 Why was this so bad → I could have done well if I had understood the interview expectations and not been stuck in the "Leetcode mindset." 🔹 What I learned → Always clarify what concepts will be tested in the interview and read about others' experiences to prepare. However, finding detailed interview experiences isn’t easy. Many are vague, and don’t cover the specific challenges you face. Swiggy Food Delivery Experience I placed an order at 10:04 pm, the delivery was expected to be done by around 10:30. Suddenly I received the notification at 10:35pm that the order was delivered. On reaching out with the delivery partner, he was not even picking the call. On reaching out to customer care, they had their default apology for not delivering and simply offered refund. Refund is fine, but when i tried to place the order again the restaurant were not available. Now, we had to order from zomato and wait for another hour for having a peaceful meal. My first day at Google was 4 years ago today. Just after Covid hit and WFH began. I started in Search leading infrastructure teams building the Search app on Android. Then I joined YouTube, leading platform teams in YouTube Shopping. I'm still in YouTube Shopping but now I'm leading the global technical program management team and engineering portfolio management office. In my four years to-date, I haven't changed the world and I haven't been promoted. But, I have learned many new things and I practice applying them every chance I get. I've managed to change some aspects of the culture. I've experienced some great collaboration and teamwork. I've dealt with some typical, common or garden crunchiness too. I got on a plane for the first time in 26 years. I've been to India, the US and Switzerland for the first time ever. I've managed to body swerve most social occasions, but I'm even dabbling a little bit there very occasionally too. I've been in 3 meetings watching Google software engineers drawing on a whiteboard explaining technical things. The most recent one just last week! It was *mega*. I don't think anyone else in the room even gave it a second thought... All I could think was PINCH ME! 😝 People have told me more times in the last 4 years, than my 26 years before, that I'm the best manager they *ever had* ❤️ This means most of all to me. I've worked *incredibly hard* over many many years to *really learn* and get good at supporting people. In particular, helping people with a growth mindset achieve more by tapping into their full potential. Having said that, naturally, there's inevitably been one or two people who don't share that sentiment. You can't be everything to everyone. Even here at Google 🤷‍♀️ This reality keeps me grounded and learning, so in a strange way, I'm still thankful. I've been fully remote since I started so I don't really experience the "Google magic" of the swanky offices and free stuff. My feet are still firmly on the ground and I am very keenly aware of the incredible privilege I've been lucky enough to experience so far. The truth is, on paper, I'm not supposed to be here, nor capable of the things I'm doing. But it's *precisely because of that fact* that I'm able to do things most people here can't. Imagine that! 😊 We all bring something unique to the table. I'm the oddly shaped jigsaw piece who found an unlikely place to fit in. Looking back on it all today, I'm just really proud of myself. And eternally grateful. 🙏
