In our post on Ist October, we suggested that Nifty has generated a sell signal, and if it breaks 9th September low of 24753.15 by 19th October, the big reversal will be confirmed. We again suggested Friday that if 24753.15 is gone, then the Nifty may go down as low as 21000-19000. Now Nifty has broken the 24753.15 level, and now Nifty should break June 4th low of 21281.45 in the next 3 months. On Friday, we also suggested lightening the equity exposure, and today, both midcap and smallcap indices have crashed, hitting investors' portfolios a little hard. Till now, these two indices have been having a free run. Now, it will be quite a tough time for PMS schemes as it is going to be very difficult to exit from these positions in a falling market. Now, the boys will be separated from the men. As Warren Buffet famously said, " Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked." We advise extreme caution going ahead. “Without Nature, we are not.”- A start of an article Aseem Shrivastava wrote in The Open Magazine in 2021. He quotes Rilke and writes, “it appears that in the process of arising within us, the earth has dreams for us!” Sunny Narang Bhai shared this which makes a weekend evolutionary. He shares about an author, guide, teacher and friend Aseem Shrivastava and his podcast below organized by Dark 'n' Light This earth is our only home, so he asks, “Are we ready to abandon her for the greener pastures of another planet that the space fantasists never fail to promise us? In a gentle defiance of the European Enlightenment vision, let us seriously consider the possibility that Rilke is right, that perhaps the Earth does have dreams for us, in the manner that a mother has dreams for her children. And like a mother’s dreams, the earth’s hopes for us must have power.” What if the earth is alive and we are merely manifestations of some deeper consciousness? Knowledge has been given way too much priority given the vast extent of human ignorance at the individual and collective species level. Apart from planetisation, we have two other processes of cognitive modernity that relate to this. One is globalisation, including how we view the earth only in terms of its natural resources, and the other is objectification of the body.  All this alienation from self, culture and nature leads to what Shrivastava calls the disturbed ecologies of modernity. We spoke of ecosophy and how an ecosophical approach differs from modern day ecological approaches. Shrivastava introduced metaphysical approaches where the universe has a soul, communicating through a nonverbal language. Human beings do not have a monopoly on life; ecosophy in some ways is the wisdom not just of the earth but of the living earth, not that there is a clear distinction between the living and the dead, life is a continuum. Ecosophy, unlike environmentalism or ecology, fundamentally tackles things like earth alienation and looks at the content of our vanishing relationship to the natural world in its full physical and metaphysical depth. We need a new mythos, and we can learn from Rabindranath Tagore in this context. Through his poetry, music, stories, plays and letter, the mythos is all there and you don’t need to go to science to find the meaning of life. We have a world that is arrhythmic, out of sync, not to mention suffering from psychic, cognitive and spiritual arrhythmia too. We need to understand the real roots of the crises we face, the limits of our knowledge, question our need to dominate and control and, in the end, face some heart reckoning and atonement. India's Rice Exports down by 34% due to Government Export Restrictions 1. Drop in Rice Exports: Rice exports from April to June fell by nearly 34% to 3.2 million tonnes due to restrictions and tariffs. 2. Government Restrictions: The Indian government banned the export of non-basmati white rice and broken rice and imposed a 20% tariff on parboiled rice to protect domestic food security. 3. Impact on Specific Rice Types: Non-basmati white rice exports dropped 78%, broken rice fell 8%, and parboiled rice declined 11%. 4. Reasons for Restrictions: The ban was put in place last July to ensure stable prices for consumers and fair prices for farmers amid lower crop output caused by El Nino. 5. Nilesh Shah: "In consumption, we are more bullish consumer staples than consumer durables. We are more bullish in rural India rather than urban India. And we are still bullish on premiumisation rather than mass market. On the capex side, the focus of the government is on road, water, defence. Here, you will have to be very selective about picking up counters because there are some counters because there are some counters where floating stock is limited and hence valuations are ahead of fundamentals. Foreign Portfolio Investors Shift to Bearish Bets Amid Geopolitical Tensions and Regulatory Changes! 1. Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) in Indian Markets - FPIs raised net bearish bets on Nifty and Bank Nifty futures by 71,095 contracts overnight to 107,486 contracts. - This indicates heightened caution due to rising tensions in West Asia and the recent amendment to the India-Mauritius tax treaty. - FPIs held Indian shares worth $769.5 billion as of 31 March. 2. Change in FPI Stance - FPIs shifted from a cumulative bullish position to a net short position. - Such a significant overnight increase in bearish positions is uncommon and indicates growing concerns. 3. Possible Reasons for the Shift - Rising tensions between Israel and Iran may have influenced FPIs' decision-making. - The recent amendment to the India-Mauritius tax treaty may also be a factor spooking FPIs. 4. FPI Selling Activity - FPIs have intensified selling Indian equities since Iran's retaliation against Israel. - They have net sold Indian shares worth ₹18,698.31 crore in the past four sessions through Thursday. 5. Market Impact - Renewed conflict in West Asia could lead to crude oil hitting $100 a barrel. - This could widen India's trade deficit and negatively impact the rupee. Overall, FPIs' increased bearish bets reflect concerns about geopolitical tensions and regulatory changes, leading to intensified selling activity in Indian equities and potential market volatility.

#Weekly_Indian_Startup_Funding_Update   Kyro Capital Private Limited 1. Zepto, a quick commerce company, raised $ 665 M in its Series F funding round led by Glade Brook, Nexus, and StepStone. They plan to use the funds to double the number of its dark stores to 700 and also scale up Zepto Café. 2. Aye Finance, a fintech company specializing in lending, secured $30 M in debt financing from FMO, a Dutch Development Bank. They plan to mobilize these funds to expand financial inclusion to underserved MSME sector in India. 3. Bira 91, an alcoholic beverage company, secured $ 25 M in debt financing from Kirin Holdings. They plan to expand their manufacturing base to new regions in North India. 4. EKA Mobility, a cleantech company focused on electric vehicles, raised $ 23.9 M in an undisclosed round of funding. Mitsui and Co. Ltd served as the sole investor. The raise will assist in expansion of product portfolio and to meet capex needs. 5. OrbitShift, an enterprise software company specializing in horizontal SaaS solutions, raised $ 7 M in a seed funding round co-led by Peak XV Partners and Stellaris Venture Partners. The proceeds will be used to expand the company’s base in the U.S. 6. Alyve Health, a healthtech company focused on fitness and wellness, secured $ 5.5 M in its Series A funding round led by Axilor Ventures. The funds will be used for strategic growth initiatives like talent acquisition, operation expansion etc. 7. AVIOM Housing Finance, a fintech company specializing in lending, secured $ 5 M in debt financing from the InsuResilience Investment Fund. 8. Balwaan Krishi, an agritech company focused on farm inputs, secured $ 4.8 M in its Series A funding round led by JM Financial Private Equity. The funds will be utilized to buy new products and channelize its distribution network. 9. The Pant Project, an e-commerce company with a direct-to-consumer model, secured $ 4.2 M in its Series A funding round led by Sorin Investments. The funds will be used for offline store retail expansion, branding and marketing, tech development. 10. Supermoney, a fintech company specializing in lending, secured $ 3.4 M in its Series A funding round co-led by Capital 2B and Capria Ventures. The company would increase disbursement volume and leverage tech to optimize operations. 11. Distil, an e-commerce company specializing in business-to-business e-commerce, secured $ 3.1 M in a seed funding round co-led by Jungle Ventures and IndiaQuotient. They will utilize the money to expand its teams across sales, research and development and other areas. 12. Maxim AI, an enterprise software company specializing in horizontal SaaS solutions, secured    $ 3 M in a seed funding round led by Elevation Capital.
