It's purely a game more of Execution and technology. As per the govt latest data, ther are only 35 million home broadband in India with almost 2 TSP and more than 1500 ISPs in india. In countries like India, faster Broadband penetration must catch up equally to bridge digital divide with only wifi hotspot in very less time and in very less capex on which we are working on. Set to be a game-changer for the Indian telecommunication landscape, the Telecommunication Act, 2023, was enacted with the vision of heralding a new era of innovation, competition, and universal connectivity. This forward-looking legislation seeks to dismantle the decades-old cumbersome licensing regime, derived from the 138-year-old 1885 Telegraph Act, replacing it with a streamlined authorization framework that promises to simplify compliance and enhance consumer protection. The Act addresses several long-standing ease-of-doing business (EoDB) issues, such as the right of way (RoW) hurdles; establishment of Digital Bharat Nidhi (erstwhile Universal Service Obligation Fund) to support services in underserved rural, remote, and urban areas; administrative allocation of satellite spectrum; utilization of spectrum in​a  technologically neutral manner; protection against unsolicited communication for users; concerns of telecommunication cyber security, encryption and data processing, among others. Navigating the Waves: Insights from India's Latest Spectrum Auction As we delve deeper into the results of India's recent spectrum auction, significant strategic behaviors are emerging among major telecom players. My latest article breaks down these moves, especially the unexpected lack of interest in the 800 MHz band, confirming earlier predictions and indicating a need of strategic shift towards more crucial 5G bands low frequency bands. RJIO is focusing on the 700 MHz band, pivotal for their 5G rollout, while Bharti is looking towards the 600 MHz band to bolster their service—though these bands were notably absent from the auction. This gap suggests potential delays in advancing the quality of 5G services in India, pending a strategic revision in spectrum allocation. In my analysis, I explore how Bharti's engagement in the mid-band spectrum could be a defensive move to enhance their 5G uplink capabilities, subtly improving network performance. On the other hand, the minimalist approaches by RJIO and VI, characterized by incremental bids, suggest a more calculated rather than transformative strategy. Although the auction might extend for a few more rounds due to competitive bidding in certain areas, dramatic shifts are not anticipated. With an expected auction outflow of around ₹12,000 Crore, the journey to significantly enhance India's 5G infrastructure seems contingent on the future availability of more suitable low-frequency bands at affordable prices. JPL’s 5G Stack Continues to implement AI/ML at scale in it’s 5G Standalone Architecture. The 5G SCP service-mesh is the heart of the 5G Standalone Core Network, and handles billions of transactions. By using the novel Jio Brain Architecture, the SCP now incorporates real-time AI features for intelligent traffic steering, network anomaly detection as well as closed-loop workflows integrated with JPLs 5G cloud-native OSS platforms. This is the first large-scale on-ground AI implementation in a 5G network leveraging the Jio Brain Architecture.
