    Many HR leaders are struggling to find solutions to early attrition, lost productivity, employee unrest and dissatisfaction. All these are the symptoms of low levels of Engagement Quotient (EnQ) - the measure of employee engagement. Unless we adopt a systemic process and structured measuring and monitoring system, it is very difficult to gauge and improve Employee Engagement in any organization. Employee Engagement has been entrusted to HR teams and they keep trying multiple programs and activities hoping to improve the EnQ. However, due to a lack of systemic approach and objective measurement system, they fail to have any direct measures. So far only indirect measures like attrition or Employee Satisfaction Survey score have been used for this purpose. This book attempts to provide you this long sought after system for designing, planning, deploying , monitoring and improving the levels of EnQ.

    The organization is involved in providing spoken English training through class room sessions. However, this has created a scalability problem preventing faster growth of the organization. Sridhar worked with the Management Team and was able to identify opportunities through brainstorming and Blue Ocean Strategy. The target markets which were not being reached were identified and a new strategy of providing distance learning through telephonic support was created. The product proved to be an instant hit addressing scalability issues and reaching even the remote markets which were untapped till then. This has impacted the top line by 26% within first 6 months of launch.

    IICT has a small team of software developers handling various client projects. The team comprises of 2 Senior Team Leads and 14 Junior Developers with less than 1 year experience. This has been causing huge schedule deviation, effort over runs and poor quality. Sridhar has designed a new methodology where Team Leads started doing elaborate designs which were converted into code by the junior developers. This was preceded by development coding standards and training of the team. Before the…

Within one month of this initiative, the team was able to complete similar functions in 2 1/2 hours with huge improvement in quality.

Sridhar analyzed the current sales process and identified that the target market and customer profile has not been defined well. He has also identified that fixing of appointments and handling the sales interviews need to be improved. The sales team was trained with an innovative approach for fixing the appointments and handling the sales interviews. The target market was redefined and sales force was allocated segments based on their previous experience. This proved to be very effective and the conversion ratio has improved by 30% within the first week.
