About
I have 12+ years of experience in the field of mental health across diverse settings - banks, educational institutions, hospitals, legal firms, NGOs and observation homes.
With a Masters’ degree in Counselling from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, I am also trained in transactional analysis from Institute of Counselling and Transactional Analysis (ICTA), Kochi, clinical hypnotherapy from California Hypnosis Institute of India (CHII), emotional freedom technique (EFT) and Matrix Reimprinting from EFTMRA. I became an accredited Journey Practitioner in 2019 after completing a year-long somatic-based training that incorporated the wisdom of the Enneagram with the IFS model and Gestalt techniques. My counselling practice is integrative, trauma-informed and queer-affirmative.
In 2021, Karl Dawson, the founder of Matrix Reimprinting and one of the founding masters of EFT chose me as part of his exclusive trainer team for teaching EFT in India. I was the first psychologist in India to be bestowed this honour.
In 2016, I began my entrepreneurial journey with the start of Silver Lining Wellness Centre Pvt. Ltd. The intention behind this initiative was to create a safe space where individuals have the freedom to completely explore the truth of their own being in a gentle manner, free of judgment.
I am an advocate for sensitivity, compassion, acceptance and vulnerability. I believe these four pillars truly facilitate the healing process as they enable individuals to navigate through their blocks of criticism, doubt, fear, anxiety, denial, sadness; and enable them to work through their difficulties by being kinder to themselves and their world. As a collaborative guide and not an expert who claims to have all answers, I value and deeply respect my clients as they are, and the wisdom they already have within themselves. I encourage aspiring and established mental health professionals to imbibe these values in their therapeutic practice. With a Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision from the University of Derby, I offer training programs and clinical supervision services to mental health practitioners.
In 2022, I began teaching Psychology as a guest lecturer to make the knowledge of mental health and psychotherapy culturally-competent, identity-based, and life-transforming!
I help organizations become more profitable by enabling them to invest in their employees' mental health through employee wellbeing programs, corporate wellness retreats, and tele-mental health services.

Family and friends are an integral part of every individual’s life. While the importance and the role of the family in a person’s life have been extensively studied, research on friendship is still lagging behind. In the Indian context, research on the topic of friendship is, especially, scarce. The current study aims to describe how the concept of friendship is understood by emerging adults, and explore the various patterns of same-sex and opposite-sex friendships. Data was obtained from 30 self-identified pairs of friends living in metropolitan cities of India. A self-designed questionnaire along with the Keirsey Temperament Sorter-II was used for this purpose along with a few interviews. The data obtained was subject to quantitative as well as qualitative analysis. The analysis revealed that emerging adults regarded their friends to be as important as their family members. Friendship was regarded as a lasting, co-dependent relationship based on trust, respect, warmth, loyalty, honesty, genuineness and understanding. Emerging adults counted on their friends as pillars of support. Time played a major role in the evolution of the relationship. The findings also revealed that common interests, similar personality, intelligence and sense of humour were factors that impacted one’s selection of friends. Differences in the friendships between same-sex individuals and opposite-sex individuals were highlighted. Gender differences in these friendship patterns were also identified. The role of personality in the maintenance of friendship was examined.
