Allowance either in cash and/or time to spend on fitness or related activities. The reason a lot of people claim for not being fit, and in turn healthy, is that they don’t have time for it. Their job takes up most of it. I’d say time is more important than cash. So, a good workplace in my opinion, should aim to keep their employees healthy. Some companies provide gym memberships, reimbursements, subscriptions to random nonsense. But what’s the point if you keep your employees working from 9am to 9pm? Instead incentivise them or remove any barriers that could keep them from pursuing some form of physical fitness. Be it the gym, pool or badminton. Even the richest of folks struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle because of stress/lack of time. So I don’t think money is actually an issue. It’s the motivation + having time + the right kind of people around you. As a company you can’t control point 1, but you can definitely provide point 2 and foster point 3.

I’d rather not be a specialist in UX Design. . . . I was in my first year at college when I discovered UX design.  At the time (in 2019), UX design was all about - "Research" "Data" "Analysis" etc etc The entry barrier?  A couple of well-designed case studies where you throw in terms like - information architecture, user journey, Affinity mapping, A/B testing and you were GOLDEN! What’s changed since then? (Apart from the sad job market) Now, along with all these fancy case studies you also need to show - →A generalist approach - Your ability to combine diverse skills like visual design, motion design etc. →Practical application of UX laws - You need to know how to apply them to real-life scenarios →Business savviness - Balancing aesthetics with profitability because In the real world, all stakeholders need to be made happy. What I have realized (and am trying to apply) is -  Develop a broad skill set, don’t niche down too early, it will open a lot more doors for you. Happy designing to you :)  - Oorja Kapoor 📌

Overcoming the fear of uncertainty is key for designers. From a personal perspective, I've observed a troubling lack of respect for designers within Indian companies. Many organisations undervalue designers, not fully appreciating how impactful good design can be on user experience and overall growth. This lack of recognition can be disheartening, especially when design is crucial in creating effective, engaging products. I believe it's time for a shift in perception. Too often designers start researching after a task is assigned. By this time, the outcome of such design is usually an interpretation of an idea already present on Dribbble/ competitor apps etc. Maintaining a commonplace/visual library which is a "slow burn" over time of research done by the designer across different disciplines of inspiration ensures that when a project kick-off happens, there is a recall of all that visual library into a truly original output. #uxdesign #designthinking

Why you should continue the user interview - even if they are not your core audience? In a recent research for an Agent Design and Development Project we continued user research even though some of the candidates were not our perfect target audience. Here are few findings from 3 such sessions 1. They might point out features or friction points that aren’t immediately apparent to our core audience but still impact overall usability. 2. They struggle with certain navigation or features - fixing those could benefit our primary audiences. 3. In case they have used similar products in other industries - their inputs help us see some parallels to improve our own product. 4. Chance of discovering adjacent market needs. 5. By completing the interview we developed a positive relationship and could collaborate in future. What are your thoughts? is it a good idea to continue or we should have stopped? Let me know...

As a UI/UX designer, I know the struggle is real. You spend hours crafting the perfect interface, agonizing over every pixel, only to have the client say "Can you make the logo bigger?" 🤦‍♂️ Or how about when you present your beautiful, minimalist design and they respond "I love it, but can we add more stuff?" 🤯 And let's not forget the classic "Can you make it pop more?" 💥 Ummm, I thought that's what I did, Karen! But hey, at least we get to play with cool tools like Figma and Sketch all day, right? 🎨 And who doesn't love a good "wireframe" joke at the water cooler? 😆 In all seriousness though, UI/UX design is an amazing field that combines creativity, problem-solving, and a never-ending quest to make technology more human-friendly. 🧠 So to all my fellow designers out there, keep fighting the good fight!
