It's on the back of these gun numbers that the AUM at Quant mutual has grown from 250 crores in March 2020 to over 80,000 crores today. Note: ~25% of its AUM is in it's Smallcap scheme. There have been questions during this journey with skeptics doubting whether the fund house could continue to deliver this outperformance as it's AUM grew bigger. The team has answered this aspect resoundingly thus far. But it's not all about performance, is it? They now face their next challenge. A bigger challenge. Process. Allegations of front running are serious and all eyes will be on the fund house to see how they respond to this threat. Can they deal with this issue swiftly, transparently, and emerge a more robust organization? They will undoubtedly want to - AT THE EARLIEST - get back to doing what they have been so successful at over the last 5 years - generating superior returns for investors. Market has corrected significantly and Nifty has closed below 22000. It is around 900-1000 points lower than it was two weeks ago. Though the market has corrected more earlier, it was more due to weakness in global markets and selling by FIIs. This time FIIs did not participate in the rally during the year. Moreover, NIfty PE is not that astronomical. It is also be noted that NIFTY IT, NIFTY Banking, which has high weightage in NIFTY 50 did not participate much in the rally this year and their valuations are reasonable. Long term investors should find the opportunities and put some money for making good profits over a period of four-five years. However, there is nothing to hurry and market may take more time to stabilize. Also look out at budget, there is strong rumour of withdrawing concessional tax rate on capital gains. This is just information for further analysis and not any recommendation.
