It reflects the value available to equity shareholders after accounting for all liabilities. 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Equity value is calculated as the market price per share multiplied by the total number of outstanding shares. The formula is: Equity Value = Market Price per Share × Total Number of Outstanding Shares. OR If we estimate intrinsic value then see the graph below. Here is all about basics of Fund of Funds (Private Equity FoF) Industry definition, How it works and different strategies used in FoF Investing: A ‘fund of funds’ (FoF) is an investment strategy whereby investments are made in other Private equity funds rather than specific companies or deals. A fund of funds is advantageous for investors as their money is invested in various fund strategies which diversify risk. What is a Private Equity Fund of Funds? A private equity fund of funds acts as a Limited Partner for private equity funds/ firms. It raises capital from institutional investors such as pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, and high-net-worth individuals, and it invests that capital in specific PE firms. The key difference is that funds of funds invest in firms rather than specific companies or deals.Or, more accurately, they mostly invest in firms rather than specific companies or deals. The fund of funds is an “extra layer” between a private equity firm and its normal set of Limited Partners How PE Funds of Funds Are Structured and How They Execute Deals? Private equity funds of funds focus on three main activities: Primary Investing: This means investing in new private equity funds that are currently raising capital. Secondary Investing: This means buying stakes in existing private equity funds from other LPs who want to sell their stakes. Co-Investing: This means investing in a specific deal that a single PE firm is doing, usually because the PE firm wants to bring in other sources of capital. Some firms use a mix of all these strategies, while others focus on one or two.There might also be requirements to put a certain percentage of capital, such as 80%, into new or existing funds, and the remaining 20% into co-investments. Co-investing is the riskiest strategy but also has the highest potential returns. Secondary investing is the least risky strategy because performance data already exists, so it’s easier to judge how well a specific PE fund is performing before investing. Wealthtech startup Groww’s asset management business Groww Mutual Fund launched two new fund offerings (NFO) – Groww Nifty EV & New Age Automotive ETF and Groww Nifty EV & New Age Automotive ETF FOF👇 The NFO of Groww Mutual Fund Nifty EV & New Age Automotive ETF (exchange-traded fund) will be open till August 2, 2024, and that of Groww Nifty EV & New Age Automotive ETF FOF (fund of funds) will be open till August 7, 2024. The development comes on the heels of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) launching a new thematic index – Nifty EV & New Age Automotive index – in May this year. The exchange announced the launch of the index to track the performance of companies that are a part of the EV ecosystem or involved in developing new-age automotive vehicles or related technology.

Inflexor Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm, recently closed the first round of its Rs 350 crore Opportunities Fund, securing approximately 80% of the target corpus with Rs 280 crore. The primary investor in this fund is HDFC AMC Select AIF FoF I Scheme, managed by HDFC Asset Management Company, making it a dominant limited partner (LP) in the initiative. Additional LPs include high-net-worth individuals, family offices, corporates, and other institutional investors. The Opportunities Fund, set for a final close by the end of this month, will allocate capital to expand and maintain Inflexor’s portfolio. Part of the corpus will be directed towards acquiring the entire portfolio from Inflexor’s first fund, which includes investments in tech-focused companies like Atomberg Technologies , PlayShifu, Entropik, Bellatrix, and CloudSEK. Over the next three to five years, Inflexor also aims to increase its stake in these companies to support their growth. Currently, Inflexor is also deploying capital from its second fund, raised in 2021, which has backed companies such as Kale Logistics Solutions , Atomberg, PlayShifu, ClickPost, and Bioprime™. The firm recently achieved a notable exit from Steradian Semiconductors, selling it to a Tokyo-listed strategic partner, demonstrating its potential for profitable exits. Founded by Venkat Vallabhaneni, Jatin Desai, Pratip Mazumdar, Inflexor Ventures manages Rs 1,000 crore in assets across a portfolio of 26 companies. Seed stage-focused VC firm Titan Capital has reportedly marked the final close of its new opportunities fund known as Titan Capital Winners Fund at INR 333 Cr (about $40 Mn). This capital will be deployed in existing portfolio companies of the firm in later stages, while the VC firm said it will utilise high-signal data to make informed investment decisions. It is to be noted that Titan Capital Winners Fund, backed by Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, raised a target corpus of INR 200 Cr to exclusively invest in follow-on rounds of breakout startups from its seed portfolio, in August. The Category-II alternative investment fund (AIF) is focussed on backing tech-enabled businesses led by “stellar founders and management teams building category creators”. Lending Firm "Fibe" raises 90 million dollars in funding led by TR Capital. It is a Pune-based consumer lending startup, that was previously known as EarlySalary. The round saw participation from Hong Kong-based TR Capital which pumped in around $32 million to acquire a mix of secondary and primary shares, along with Trifecta Capital and Amara Partners. Fibe founder Akshay Mehrotra did not comment on the valuation of the company after this deal. People in the know pegged the post-money valuation at more than $500 million. According to data shared by the company, it closed FY24 with revenue of nearly Rs 1,000 crore against Rs 429 crore in FY23. Net profit nearly tripled to around Rs 100 crore from Rs 36 crore. Rohit Krishna wanted nothing but to break into the PE/VC world, after he qualified as a CA in 2011. Unfortunately, many funds turned him down for being too young. Fast forward to 2017 – he co-launched WEH Ventures with a Fund 1 of ₹20 Crores. It wasn't exactly easy to convince the investors.
