Thane-based healthtech startup, Watchyourhealth.com, has successfully raised $5 million in a Series A funding round led by Cornerstone Ventures from India and Conquest Global from Singapore. The funds will be utilized to scale operations, expand the user base both domestically and internationally, and enhance the company's technological infrastructure and platform capabilities. “This investment will enable us to enhance our technological infrastructure, expand our user base, and introduce innovative health management solutions,” said Ratheesh Nair, Co-founder of Watch Your Health. Founded in 2015 by Ratheesh Nair, Abhitosh Pandey, Jay Patel, and Prachi Shinde, Watch Your Health operates in the business-to-business (B2B) sector, assisting insurers and pharmaceutical companies in improving customer experience and engagement. The startup employs advanced analytics to offer personalized recommendations on health improvements, diet management, exercise routines, and lifestyle changes. It also aims to introduce electronic behavior records, mental health support, advanced predictive analytics for disease prevention, chronic disease management, and post-hospitalization care programs. “Our mission is to transform the way people manage their health by leveraging AI-driven insights and personalized care. We believe proactive health management is the key to a healthier future, and this funding brings us closer to achieving that goal,” Nair added. Acko, a Bengaluru-based insurtech startup, has acquired #digitalchronic care management provider OneCare. The all-cash transaction's terms have yet to be published. The acquisition is part of Acko's expansion plan in the #healthcaresector. It aspires to create an ecosystem that meets a wide range of health insurance needs, including protection, prevention, care, and recovery. Acko, which entered the retail health #insurancemarket in March 2023, views this acquisition as an important step in redefining healthcare for its clients. "Acko is continually reinventing the #healthcare landscape for its consumers. We have purchased OneCare, whose basic business values stress a client-first approach and comprehensive care, and we have common ambitions in alleviating #customerpain points," stated Varun Dua, Acko's Founder and CEO. He believes that integrating OneCare's capabilities will improve #clinicalcare directly into Acko's insurance experiences, ensuring that clients receive the best possible treatment. Rakesh Shivran and Sagar Bhat, co-founders of Bengaluru-based OneCare, will join Acko's #managementteam. They provide extensive knowledge and a track record of delivering large-scale health-tech services. OneCare has created an omnichannel paradigm for chronic care delivery that includes advanced wearables, data-driven insights, physical clinics, and virtual care teams. "Acko's vision is completely consistent with our ambitions. "We see a tremendous opportunity to scale our impact and transform the way care is delivered to millions across the country," they said. Varun Dua founded Acko in 2016, and it operates on a direct-to-consumer approach, selling paperless insurance products. The firm began with auto insurance and has recently moved into #healthinsurance. It is also known for launching innovative goods, such as the Extended Battery Warranty for EVs in collaboration with Ather and Hero. Acko has collaborated with over 50 platforms, including Oyo, redBus, and Zomato, and claims to have insured over 78 million unique clients while issuing over 1 billion insurance policies. Acko's financial performance has improved, with income from operations rising by 31.9% to Rs 1,759 crore in FY23 from Rs 1,334 crore in FY22. However, the company also reported a 53.1% increase in losses, totaling Rs 738 crore. Qure.ai, a healthcare firm specializing in AI-driven diagnostic solutions, recently raised $65 million in a funding round led by Lightspeed Ventures and 360 ONE Asset Management. This follows an impressive 83% revenue growth, with Qure.ai surpassing Rs 140 crore in revenue for FY24. The company also managed to reduce its losses by 38.5% during the same period. Qure.ai's revenue from operations surged to Rs 141 crore in FY24, up from Rs 77 crore in FY23, according to its consolidated financial reports. The bulk of its revenue (87.23%) came from the sale of its AI-driven diagnostic tools, which assist radiologists and physicians in diagnosing conditions like tuberculosis, lung cancer, and stroke. This segment of the business doubled in sales to Rs 123 crore in FY24. The remainder of Qure.ai’s revenue came from selling healthcare products. Like many tech-driven companies, employee benefits formed a significant part of Qure.ai's expenses, making up more than half of the total costs. These expenses rose by 66.2%, reaching Rs 108 crore in FY24, up from Rs 65 crore in the previous fiscal year. Notably, Rs 12 crore was allocated for ESOP expenses, a non-cash component.
