Vivek Sharma : The markets have seen correction in mid and small cap space, where there is excess exuberance and valuations were unsustainable. Markets seem to have assigned high valuations to cyclical and slow growing companies and now there is some reality check. Further correction in pockets where earnings are not sustainable is not ruled out. Result Summary - LTTS L&T Technologies Ltd (CMP Rs 5,182.8 I M.Cap Rs 54,811 cr) 4QFY24 result – Strong performance despite persistent Marco challenges; FY25 revenue to grow at 8-10% Financial Update ⏩️ The company during the quarter has reported 4.8%/7.0% QoQ/YoY growth in revenue to Rs 2,537.5 cr (in rupee term) while net profit grew 1.4%/0.2% QoQ/YoY to Rs 340.8 cr. The CC revenue though grew 6.3%/5.1% YoY/QoQ respectively. ⏩️ 3 out of 5 vertical registered YoY growth. Telcom and Hi-tech registered growth both QoQ and YoY. The headline numbers are broadly in-line with guidance shared by the company. ⏩️ The EBIT margin dropped 30 bps/100 bps QoQ/YoY to 16.9%. LTM attrition rate dropped 100 bps QoQ to 14.8% in-line with industry trends. The drop in margin was on account of higher sub-contracting costs and lower share of off-shore revenue. ⏩️ The company has delivered its full year revenue guidance growing revenue in constant currency terms by 17.9%. ⏩️ The deal pipeline is strong as LTTS during the quarter signed one $ 100 million, one $ 30 million and two deals each of $20 million and USD 10 million. Additionally, it has signed one significant empanelment agreement. Management commentary post result ⏩️ Aspiration to deliver $ 1.5 billion revenue for FY25 is retained despite decision making environment persistently remaining slow: The management during the conference call highlighted the persistent delay in decision making environment however it has guided for 8-10% CC revenue growth for FY25. LTTS has retained its aspiration to deliver $ 1.5 billion revenue for FY25. ⏩️ Margin may face some headwinds: The margin trajectory for long term is retained at 17% plus though FY25 may see at 16% level. The lower margin guidance is on account of ongoing geopolitical tension and investments in key areas like Gen-AI, engineering, product and processes etc. The company will continue to invest on new areas like SDV (Software Defined Vehicle), Next Gen-AI, Cyber security etc. ⏩️ Strong demand environment in transportation while other vertical registering positive growth: Transportation/Telecom Hi-Tech/Plant Engineering grew 11.9%/10.4%/7.8% YoY and 1%/20.9%/6.3% QoQ respectively. Plant Engineering growth is driven by high capex while transport vertical growth is led by SDV, AI. Telecom & Hitech growth is driven by Semi-conductors and hyper-scalers. Our View: At the current price, the stock is trading at 36.6x/31.6x of its FY25E/FY26E Bloomberg consensus earnings which is attractive when compared with its close peers. While, overall deal pipeline remained strong there are short term headwinds. The management expect first 2 quarters of FY25 to be soft and there could be a gradual recovery from 3rd quarter onwards. We believe, that stock may continue to consolidate in near term between Rs 5,000-Rs 5,500. The investors may gradually accumulate the stock in a staggered manner. Morgan Stanley has reiterated its "Equal-Weight" rating on HDFC Asset Management Company (HDFC AMC), stating that the company's Q2 operating profit was in line with expectations. The Reserve Bank of India has designed Liquidity Adjustment Facilities for all Scheduled Commercial Banks called Marginal Standing Facility also known as MSF on May 9, 2011 All Scheduled Commercial Banks having Current Account and SGL Account with Reserve Bank, Mumbai are eligible to participate in the MSF Scheme. MSF is an overnight liquidity support scheme by RBI to provide funds or inject liquidity to commercial banks. The interest rate of MSF is higher than the REPO rate. It is like an emergency liquidity facility available to banks on all days irrespective of holidays. The MSF can be availed by the commercial banks even if they have exhausted their eligible security holdings for borrowing under other options like Repo. It allows banks to avail funds even if banks don’t have eligible securities over and above their Statutory Liquidity Requirements. That means banks can avail funds by dipping SLR upto 2 percent of Net Demand and Time Liabilities which is also known as NDTL. Some market pointers- FPIs- In the past one month (22 trading sessions), FPI's have bought $9.3bn under equity segment (inclusive of $1bn solely into primary markets) and $4.2bn under debt segment. The FPI run rate under FAR securities has picked up (back to normal) and we feel almost $700-800mn would come only on the last day of the month. As of 6th Sep 24* (RBI WSS), for SCB's. deposit growth was at 11.1% (13.7%) on YoY basis and 5.2% (7.5%) on FY so far basis. Credit growth was at 13.3% (19.8%) on YoY basis and 3.7% (10.0%) on FY so far basis. *This data includes the merger of HDFC and HDFC Bank. RBI bulletin (in house projections)- 1) FY25 GDP growth at 7.3% FY26 GDP growth at 6.7% Growth is slowing ahead. 2) FY25 CPI at 4.6% FY26 CPI at 3.9% Inflation is on a lower trajectory ahead. 3) 40 Currency trade weighted REER has corrected from an overvalued 107.45 to 105.45 (Aug). This could give some comfort for RBI to allow Rupee to appreciate if CNY also appreciates.

RBI is looking closely at NBFCs that’s mixing trade and finance. Looks like this particular segment will come under scrutiny in the coming times, where revolving lines of credit is used for purchase financing. The key issues highlighted here are - There are cases of collusion between sellers and lenders (NBFCs) to artificially increase interest rates. - Sellers sometimes offer embedded finance to their customers and the financing cost is then borrowed by sellers themselves. Meanwhile, borrowers do not get to see the break-up of the finance cost and the product cost. - The whole idea of trade and credit merging together creates a vicious cycle for borrowers, which can be the starting point of adverse incentives leading to some kind of collusion between sellers and lenders. Revolving lines of credit is a boon for supply chain and shouldn’t/cannot be outright banned in my view. However, certain best practices need to be followed and might just be a good shot in the arm for the segment. I would be worried about mixing of trade and finance though!
