How Forced Automation is Corroding Reputed Companies: A Symphony India's Story In the age of digital transformation, businesses are racing towards automation to streamline operations and enhance customer experiences. However, when automation is implemented without careful consideration for the human touch, it can backfire spectacularly. My recent experience with Symphony India Limited, a well-known appliance manufacturer, serves as a cautionary tale. Recently, I purchased an air cooler from Symphony India Limited directly from their website to ensure the delivery of a legitimate product without third-party complications. Unfortunately, I received a non-working unit. This is where the real ordeal began. Upon contacting customer care, you are thrust into a maze of automated responses with no human touch. Symphony India lacks an accessible email ID, dedicated phone number or postal address for customer grievances. Instead, customers are directed to a computerized toll-free number and a WhatsApp chat service. These systems create an endless loop, with the toll-free number directing the customer back to the WhatsApp chat and vice versa, leading nowhere. In an attempt to resolve the issue, if a customer fills out an online form on Symphony website and uploads a copy of the required invoice and an unboxing video, as per the company's convoluted demands, the form submission merely acknowledges the submission without providing a query number, leaving the customer in a void with no follow-up mechanism. This experience stands in stark contrast to the services and policies of Amazon India and Flipkart, where customer service representatives are readily available through multiple channels, including phone, email, and chat. Their return processes are straightforward, and they prioritize customer satisfaction above all else. This interaction raises a crucial question: Why do companies like Symphony India distrust their customers to this extent? Also, the forced automation not only frustrates customers but also severely damages the company's reputation. A customer lost is a reputation risked. After all, it takes months to find a customer… seconds to lose one.   A Message to Aspiring Professionals To those considering a career at Symphony India Limited, I urge you to pause and reflect. A company's treatment of its customers mirrors its treatment of its employees. If a company demonstrates a lack of empathy and respect for its customers, it's unlikely to foster a positive and fulfilling work environment.

Sanskrit, Chemistry Periodic Table,a Mckinsey framework and Planet Neptune Is the similarity between the Hindi alphabet table (as in picture below) and Chemistry Periodic table a coincidence? Let's see… The picture below shows letters of the Hindi Alphabet. While reading these letters aloud we notice distinct parts of our vocal chamber come into play. The line KA, KHA, GA… is spoken from the throat, The line PA, FA, BA… can only be spoken with the lips joined. The line CHA, CHHA, JA… can only be spoken with the tongue pushing onto your teeth. In summary, when you have finished reading all the letters, you will realize each part of your vocal chamber has vibrated. The Hindi letters are based on DEVANAGARI script – primary script of Sanskrit. This phonetic construct was first conceived and stated in Shiva Sutra by Panini in 14 BC. The genius of Devanagari script is it was constructed in such a manner that: • ALL POSSIBLE building blocks of sound our mouth can produce are leveraged for the letters – they are COLLECTIVELY EXHAUSTIVE • Each sound of a letter is distinct from another letter – they are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. Devanagari scripts above illustrate a powerful management consulting framework called MECE developed by Barbara Minto, first female consultant of McKinsey. Using this simple framework to develop solution alternatives, consultants are advised to brainstorm: ALL POSSIBLE choices (COLLECTIVELY EXHAUSTIVE- C.E.) NON-OVERLAPPING alternatives (MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE- M.E.) The framework in simple terms is called M.E.C.E. or the MECE FRAMEWORK. On a different but related note, it is fascinating to note the similarity of the look and feel of Hindi letters and the periodic table of chemistry, which follows a MECE construct, is no coincidence. Mendeleev, when he constructed the first eight elements, used the prefixes of eka, dvi, and tri (Sanskrit one, two, three) in their naming. In fact, when Mendeleev first developed the periodic table to arrange elements by atomic weights at St. Petersburg University, his fellow colleague Sanskritist Böhtlingk was preparing the second edition of his book on Panini at about this time. Mendeleev wished to honor Pānini with his nomenclature. Noting that there are striking similarities between the Periodic Table and the introductory Śiva Sūtras in Panini's grammar, he named them accordingly. Just as Panini arranged the sounds in order of increasing phonetic complexity Mendeleev arranged the elements in order of increasing atomic weights. Structured thinking can reveal things before they are experienced, closing with another astonishing trivia- The planet Neptune was deduced by mathematics guesstimate before it was visiblly discovered on the telescope ( in the future) just like Mendeleev left empty spaces in the table for elements to be discovered in future.

This is my first Indian election as a detached observer. Distance gives a different perspective. Here are my observations Indian votes depend on whether voters value religion more than they value roti-kapda-makaan (food-clothing-housing). Some value the former more, while others value the latter more. Hand waving, travelling magicians and their IT cells have made influencing these valuations into an precise science by saying and doing precise things. Due to Indian history, the average Indian values religion more and is able to ignore challenges on roti-kapda-makaan front at times. This preference of the average Indian defines India. I think that the "milking" of this preference by politicians is not surprising. One would need to be a saint to not do it (!) and politicians are not saints. I suspect that it is this type of "milking" which will eventually reduce this preference over few more (or many) elections. Till then, this "milking" will go on. Of course one possibility is that in the interim, such "milkers" might start finding it adequate to seek and get votes on roti-kapda-makaan (due to development outcomes delivered) and not need to resort to the "milking". In that case, this preference will remain embedded in the shared psyche of India. However if the roti-kapda-makaan is not adequate, then "milking" will eventually stop working in some future election. From that time onwards, the shared psyche of India will have changed to have similar preferences to other nations. The present phase of Indian history is an inevitable phase in Indian history and a totally unsurprising phase. The suspense is not about what is going on. The suspense is about the future. Wo Subah Kabhi To Aayegi?

Half Chances.... ....had an opportunity to listen to Jhonty Rhodes speak at the recently concluded #CIO100 symposium & awards. He touched upon the aspect of empowering & inculcating the risk taking mindset in a team. As a fielder he always went for those "half chances", thats probably made him stand out. Now as a fielding coach, he encourages and evaluates his trainees on their willingness and ability to go for those half chances. Outcome afterwards. Take those half chances, encourage your team to do likewise. Give yourself and your team the opportunity to take risks, fail fast, learn and move on.

If you are called about how the TRAI is going to disconnect your phone, do not respond. It is a scam. 2. If you are called by FedEx about a package and asked to press 1 or whatever, do not respond. It is a scam. 3. If a police officer calls you and talks to you about your Aadhaar, do not respond. It is a scam. 4. If they tell you that you are under 'digital arrest', do not respond. It is a scam. 5. It they tell you that drugs have been discovered in some package meant for you or sent by you, do not respond. It is a scam. 6. If they say you can't tell anyone, do not listen to them. Inform Cyber Crime Police at 1930. 7. If they contact you using WhatsApp or SMS, do not respond. It is a scam. 8. If anyone calls you and tells you they have sent money to your UPI id by mistake and that they just want their money back, do not respond. It is a scam. 9. If someone says they want to buy your car or your washing machine or your sofa and say they are from the army or CRPF and show you their id card, do not respond. It is a scam. 10. If someone says they are calling from Swiggy or Zomato and need you to confirm your address by pressing 1 or anything else, do not respond. It is a scam. 11. If they ask you to share OTP just to cancel the order or ride or whatever, do not respond. It is a scam. In any case, do not share your OTP with anyone over phone. 12. Never answer any calls on video mode. 13. If confused simply switch off your phone & block that number. 14. Never press on any link written in blue. 15. Even if you get a notice from the highest Police , CBI, ED , IT Department; do verify offline. 16. Always check if such letters are from authoritied Government portals . As a matter of digital hygiene, do NOT share your address, location, phone, Aadahar, PAN, DoB, or ANY personal detail with ANYONE over phone or messages. In fact, refuse even to acknowledge your own name on a call. Tell them that since they called you, they are supposed to know your name, number, and whatever detail they wish you to 'confirm'. Even if they have your details, do not confirm or deny or get caught up in any conversation. Simply disconnect and block. In every one of these cases, and similar ones, the procedure to safeguard yourself is simple: cut the call, note the number and block. Do not press any numbers during call, don't listen to them. Simply cut the call, block the number. Remember, if they are putting pressure on you, intimidating you, or forcing you to act or respond immediately, it is a scam. Cyber fraudsters are coming out with different modus operandi to trap & fleece you. INSPITE OF ALL ABOVE , IF YOU TRAPPED; REPORT TO LOCAL CYBER POLICE WITHOUT ANY HESITATIONS , EVEN IF AMOUNTS TO COMPROMISING ON YOUR REPUTATION AS THAT IS WHAT FRAUDSTERS EXPLOIT. Jai Hind

Why didn't Congress use ED while they were in power? Was corruption not present back then? The opposition targets BJP over use of ED in a biased manner. Let's assume that BJP uses ED for its own benefits. Even then, the Indian Government and people are being benefitted. Why? Because black money is being taken away from these corrupt people and the Government treasury is being filled. The number suggest the reality! Congress in 10 years arrested just 29 people. Please do not label them as BJP or COngress leaders. These are corrupt leaders. While BJP arrested 755 corrupt leaders. Do you understand what does arresting 755 corrupt leaders means? There corruption is controlled. More than 15 thousand crores have being confiscated. Congress confiscated 0 Rs in the entire 10 years. Corruption is a dynamic concept. Corruption will go on irrespective of party or leader. The only solution is that you make a right system that will ensure that people think 100 times before thinking of doing corruption. Just imagine would you partake in corruption if the penalty is death or lifetime imprisonment? Such strong rules need to be framed so that the lobby feels threatened. The BJP is making the right use of ED and ensuring the hideouts of corrupt leaders and terrorists are on the radar of the Government. If you want to know why terrorist attacks in India are stopped, you need to understand the control over the money ecosystem done by the Government. The terrorists today have no money to provide to suicide bombers and even if it has, it cannot supply it properly to places of their panned activities. Coming to the most important part of BJP withdrawing cases when a leader joins BJP, here's the story. BJP has targetted those leaders who are associates of tall leaders. For example in Maharashtra BJP targeted Shri Ajit Pawar, Shri Dilip Walse-Patil and Shri Prafull Patel. Now these three leaders handle the organisation, co-operatives and Finance of Shri Sharad Pawar. They coming on BJPs side means that now Sharad Pawar is in dire need of money and co-operative hold. The reason to induct corrupt leaders inside BJP is not just money or political power. But it is to destroy highly corrupt leaders such as Shri Sharad Pawar who cannot be targeted by BJP directly. Many won't agree to these, but it doesn't matter because the third term is going to be crazy and people will soon realize it when Modi Ji puts the final nail in the coffin of the corrupt ecosystem prevalent in India.
