Suresh: We use Microsoft 365 Planner Ramesh: Do you use anything else at all, you seem to answer Microsoft 365 for everything. Is it too expensive? Suresh: It's actually cheaper than Google Workspace. And has got plenty of features Ramesh: I spend a $120 per employee on all these licenses. Suresh: I spend $25 per employee Ramesh: I wish I had known this before Suresh: It's never too late to make the switch Ramesh: We have a lot of data already in there, I cannot risk losing that data Suresh: The data can be migrated Ramesh: Well we don't have that kind of technical expertise in the team. I have just been introduced to the concept of the "toggle tax" by Rohan Murty, Sandeep Dadlani, and Rajath B Das, and I am already obsessed. I have wished so intensely that there was a way to capture the very demonstrable productivity loss of approaching change management, training and communications with a traditional, incurious mindset. I can see the toggle tax occurring in my own mind, when I try to illustrate the value of keeping users in the flow of work when navigating change or learning. I cannot even imagine what the results would look like to evaluate the digital transformation strategies (change management, training and comms) in terms of the toggle tax. The SaaS application, the LMS, the pdf viewer, the multiple browser tabs, the shared drive, etc. all to learn and adapt to new tools and subsequent business process impacts! The work being done at Soroco to measure the way work patterns impact business outcomes is incredibly cool.

Your refrigeration system is causing droplets to form through the linter & the team on the ground is not interested in solving this issue as they're more happy to exchange emails within them. I'm writing this to you to make you aware of this pressing issue. First, I will start with your encroachment on the property that you did. Because of the reckless behavior of your team, I've had to close my office, and my work has been impacted severely. Secondly, The issue was reported to the Zepto team on July 14. Instead of insulating the floor, 1. they continuously making excuses and 2. giving me suggestions that I should put halogen lights to dry the place, 3. sending their worker to clean the droplets 4. made the office entrance trash because of their fleet of drivers's chewing tobacco problem this was my office before your team ruined the heck of it : outside view : https://bit.ly/4e9DcXY Also, the issues have only worsened since the July 14 reporting. if you or your team would have taken some active measures, then I would not have faced this many issues. but after 1.5 months, the linter is continuously exposed to chilling temperature and droplets are being formed. Inc42 Media Indiatimes the issue was reported to you on July 14, but you didn't care about this issue at all and caused 1. damaged to my property 2. impacted my work and my business 3. caused mental harassment as I can't focus on my work 4. Caused damage due to the opportunity lost as the team can't work from same place. I'm not sure that how much are you busy in scaling Zepto and even see twitter or not, but this whole issue exposed your hook or crook method of your operations. Let me warn you on this. it can't happen by ruining the properties of the other fellow business owners. I never wanted to take this matter public but I have no choice. I'm completely in the dark about whether any solution is being thought about this problem or not. I'm being told that there are few emails exchanged but those salaried folks won't understand the pain of ruining my property until they get treated in the same manner. This is the latest condition of the office : 1. The lights have been damaged 2. The linter still has water droplets. 3. Floor has developed fungi 4. The halogens are still there to dry the place which is not a solution but we thought that it will work, hence allowed it. This is the condition that you guys are directly responsible for. I tried drying the place by placing the fans in upwards direction. One party is experiencing the pain while the other is ensuring that they run their business as usual. The problem was containable when reported. now it has gone to worst. I learnt a new concept from my ex-colleague and my ex-team member Medhatithi Guha - "celebrating failures". I was amazed as we always believed in celebrating success. But our biggest learnings come from our failures - isn't it? With that spirit - I will share some experience from one project which I considered as my sole failure in my entire delivery phase of my career. That was a very small project -approximately two hundred to three hundred thousand US dollar project of re-engineering a property tax product which is being used for more than 30 years in the industry. Someone from the market team was very enthusiastic to enter into a new Geo and got this deal. I had never heard about any failed project till then. But, we saw how a team even after best of their efforts, having best support system and best talents finally end up not meeting the end goals of the project. What was wrong in this project? Well, almost everything. Few key learnings: 1. Understand the requirements in detail - specially the non-functional requirements (NFR). NFR can throw you completely off track even if the functional quality is good. 2. When you are going to replace a 30 year old running product, keep a due diligence phase to understand the scope, design and architecture followed by a detailed solution/estimation. Build a proof of concept with your TO-BE architecture and validate your design assumptions. 3. Have a good contract depicting the scope, out of scope, estimation process and mention all the appropriate RAID log. 4. Have your delivery team validate the estimation and timeline. Again, this was during the period when agile was not matured so much and many best practices were not tightened enough. Even client was not having any SME on their side as they were primarily using this as a product with no access to the real code. Client had a hard date for offboarding the product to get rid of the license cost - but the bespoke component was not stable enough to meet the NFR criteria - hence client had to extend the product for another term. In today's situation, we have so many checks and balances in the system, that hardly any new unknown project can be thrown just like this - but I am sure even after doing enough due diligence, solutioning and estimation, something or the other unknown unknowns come up which can literally throw project schedule and budget completely off track. I still feel, NFR is very critical which often we tend to ignore and pay the price later. We had adopted "early NFR/performance/security testing" in the overall SDLC to ensure that our architecture and designs are aligned with the NFRs. Cal Newport seem to have come to the rescue of Knowledge workers .In in new book called Slow productivity .He defines Pseudo-Productivity as main problem of modern workplace .Pseudo-Productivity is the activity buzz that management ends up confusing with real productivity . This is alternate way of stating Goodhart's Law which says that when a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure .This is because people work on delivering the measure as opposed to the actual thing the measure wanted everyone to achieve . Coming back to the book , Newport suggest that we need a new paradigm at workplaces where we do few things ,allow people to work at natural pace and obsess over quality .That is slow productivity . One must remember in his previous book called deep work ,he suggested we value focus over multi tasking .So the idea of slow is not to allow lazy ,time pass er but a distraction free work in the flow state . Shreyas Doshi's Product sense course is a rich collection of original and unique content, delivered in his distinctive style. Borrowed from both experiences / examples from his illustrious career as well as from a lot of subsequent reading and research that he indulged in on related topics, the curriculum is the best framing and decomposition of product sense that I have seen anywhere on the web or elsewhere. Not to be dismissed as one for the beginners, I definitely see very senior and seasoned product managers and leaders benefiting from both the content and its delivery.
