Ghostwriting is not a solo task. It requires time and effort from clients too. ↳ Whenever I ghostwrite for a niche I take the following steps: 5-Talk frequently at the start. 4-Arrange a weekly meeting with them. 3-Send a questionnaire to know about them. 2-Share content I write for them to get feedback. 1-Engage in general discussions to understand them better. ↳ As I get to know them I learn how they communicate and how they want to express their personalities. This understanding makes it easier to fulfill their goals. ↳ After working together for two months I grasp their tone & the process becomes smoother for both of us. Freelancing Truths Every Freelancer Must Know About: 1/ The projects 1. Projects won't come easy to you. Even agencies work towards acquiring a project. 2. Don't blame anyone if one f*ck up leads to project failure. Take responsibility for your actions. 3. Don't start a project without a clear contract outlining the scope of work, payment terms and other crucial details. It protects both you and the client. 4. Not every pitch will be successful. Don't get discouraged by rejection. Use it as an opportunity to learn and improve your proposals. 2/ The clients 5. Building strong relationships with clients is crucial for repeat business and referrals. 6. As a freelancer, you're always marketing yourself and seeking out new opportunities. It's a continuous cycle of finding and retaining clients. The hustle never stops. 7. Freelancers can be taken advantage of by clients who underpay or demand excessive work. Know your worth and don't be afraid to walk away from unfair deals. 8. Don't rely on 'Looking for freelance writer' LinkedIn posts alone. You're competing against so many freelancers for that one gig. The chances of conversions are lower. 3/ The work 9. Working from home requires discipline. Without a structured work environment, it's easy to get distracted or procrastinate. Develop strong time management skills to stay on top of deadlines. 13. Income can be unpredictable. Those with the capacity to pay a certain price will pay it. You just need to keep making your efforts to find those who are willing to pay the price (considering that it's fair). 18. I'm Vaishnavi, and I refuse to work for less than 1 Rupee/word as a writer. I can't churn out 3000 words a day for a meagre salary. I don't use ChatGPT to complete my tasks. I don't copy and paste stuff. √ Here's what I do: → I research competitors → I research content gaps → I fact-check what I write → I quote industry experts → I think & plan every step → I quote stats and studies → I research SEO keywords → I optimize all the content → I delete fluff & repetition → I proofread & make edits → I format & arrange drafts I write with sincerity & passion. I write to pay my bills, and I work very hard! Yet, you think I'm someone who presses a button and magic happens. Creativity cannot be automated via a prompt. My words are heavier on paper than a million-dollar AI tool. √ Your marketing will fail without what I bring to the table. → What I write generates leads → What I write helps your audience → What I write attracts your audience → What I write helps you bring dollars home No, I don't deserve your sympathy. Pay me what I deserve. √ Offering me less than RS 1/word is an insult to my craft. But if you understand how much you need me, you'll pay me what I'm worth. → Fresh: At least or more than 1 Rs per word → Mid-level: At least or more than 4 Rs per word → Senior: At least or more than 6 Rs per word The same goes for the salary structures. The rates I'm advocating are for writers who: → Research extensively → Write grammatically correct → Understand the guidelines → Create 100% original content → Create 100% organic content If I meet the criteria, you'll pay me what I deserve. I'll go the extra mile for you, do revisions, and make you happy. I'd expect you to reward me fairly—if not handsomely. √ If you find someone like me, quoting you less... Trust me, they're nothing like me. You can go ahead and assign them projects, and regret them later. I'll not compromise on the quality I deliver. However, I'll also not compromise on my livelihood.
