I am happy to share my article published on CRN India, that highlights how today, every business recognizes the advantages of digitization; however, digitization is not an isolated, “one and done” activity, but rather, an ongoing endeavor of implementation and improvement. Hence a closed loop system or process with a continuous feedback mechanism allowing continuous monitoring, and modification when required, is critical for successful digitization; in addition, the system’s self-regulation capabilities improve stability and help to achieve targeted outcomes. My thoughts on Global roles in GCCs from India as called out in the Zinnov report (https://bit.ly/3zr9GhJ). My assertion is that everyone working in GCCs should be thinking global from the outset irrespective of their job function. Reporting structure is a by-product of the organisation model, but the mindset should be about making customers successful around the world. At FIS India we are starting to bring this to the fore across our teams. "Ramkumar Narayanan, a veteran leader who has helmed five GCCs, challenged the notion of duality in global roles. Instead, he asserted that “it’s not a duality; it’s a continuity,”– a seamless integration of local insights and global strategy. This perspective shift is crucial for leaders managing teams across multiple geographies. Think of it as conducting an orchestra. Each section (or region) has its unique sound, but the conductor’s role is to blend these into a harmonious symphony. This requires more than just technical skills; it demands cultural sensitivity and the ability to orchestrate diverse ecosystems. The key, according to Ram, lies in creating the right purpose, alignment, and management structure. Physical presence, while beneficial, isn’t always necessary if you can foster the right mindset and capabilities across locations." #GlobalLeadership

India’s Global Capability Centers (#GCCs) are experiencing a significant transformation. Recent data indicates that approximately one-third of existing GCCs are expanding their presence within the country, with half aiming to do so within the next five years. This trend is driven by the need for diverse talent and the desire to mitigate risks associated with location concentration. By establishing multiple centers across various regions, companies can tap into a broader talent pool and ensure operational resilience. The impact of this expansion is substantial. GCCs contribute over 1% to India’s GDP and significantly boost service exports. The market size of India’s GCCs is projected to grow from $64.6 billion in fiscal 2024 to between $99 billion and $105 billion by 2030. This growth is not limited to traditional tech hubs like Bengaluru and Hyderabad. There’s a noticeable shift towards Tier 2 cities, offering cost advantages and access to untapped talent.
